Buddy of mine broke the tubing on his striker but the canvas was fine. It had lite weight aluminum cross members that all needed to be replaced. Lots of cracks at stress points. He kept the boat in Windsnatchy so everywhere he went was at 60+ mph.

Take it down for long trips.
I believe the top would be rated for water speeds rather than freeway speeds.

Kris has it right. Put the top back up at a local gas station, cover helps to keep you dry as you're loading the boat.

Dave, I have the Stryker also. Unless you have the towable top from alumaweld the frame is likely to break like mine did. I leave mine snapped across the windshield & fold the frame fwd across the top of the windshield. Wrap a couple of velcro straps around it all & the whole thing goes up & down real fast. I keep the side windows rolled in some bags to protect them. Hope this helps.

I would suggest the same. My last 2 Intruders have had the stainless steel tubing and hardware, and I've always towed with the top "up". My friends are amazed at how great the top rides when we're heading to a fishign spot. No worries yet...but I know it will shorten the life of my top some (it's ok, as I want the internal hardframe once this top self-destrucst).

I think the Stryker has aluminum tubing and plastic hardware. Close to home, I'd tow with it on...over 20 miles and I'd take it down.
