Yeah it's nasty out here. Been a while since I have been blown off of the river. It's time to consider your options when your float is being blown up river. Did you find any willing fish in this mess? Did find a few! It was nice yesterday! That's a great pic. One worth printing and framing. Well done!

Tight lines to those fortunate enough to get out before this mess hits...cheers Couldn't get out to wet a line due to hospital obligations, but did get another chance to sneak out to the beach for another limit of razors... just in the nick of time. South wind probably kicked up to 30-35 knots with stronger gusts as f4b and I left the beach this afternoon. I saw something posted about sustained winds of 50-60 with gusts to 90+ mph on the OR Coast.

Close on our coast as well for the wind forecast ... 3 inches now here in Forks, and the winds are just really starting to go with some serious rain after a couple of hours of slightly mellower weather ...

3 weeks of blown rivers and no fishing. . .1 windy and rainy day on the river. . .and repeat. Oh the joys of fall.

That south wind that was picking up was the front of the system, it's howlin out there now. I'd bet those good showing clams are heading south right about now.

Here we go. . . .again. Now I can focus on my finishing fishing shack while the sky is still falling.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A
* FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS IN... CLALLAM COUNTY... JEFFERSON COUNTY... MASON COUNTY... GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY...
* UNTIL 1115 PM PST TUESDAY.
* AT 1117 AM PST HEAVY RAIN OVER THE OLYMPIC MOUNTAINS WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD HIGH WATER... INCLUDING FLOODING... ON SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS OF THE OLYMPIC PENINSULA.
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED. STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED. HOWEVER... ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
RUNOFF FROM THE HEAVY RAINS COULD TRIGGER LANDSLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA. HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO FALL THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT BEFORE TAPERING TO SHOWERS DURING THE DAY TUESDAY. RIVERS WILL REMAIN HIGH... IN SOME CASES FLOODING ADJACENT AREAS... THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS... AND PONDING OF WATER ON COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
