My D100 sits here on the shelf most of the time since I have a couple of newer models that I regularly use.

This was one of Nikon's first dSLR mid-range price cameras at $1800.

I've had it for about five years but haven't used it except once in the last three or four.

It has a little over 10,000 clicks on the shutter. Nikon says they normally last 100,000.

It is in good shape, clean and only minor wear blemishes.

It comes with a year old 18-55 VR Nikon zoom lens, which I paid $169 for new. I still have the box and papers.

I thought I'd list it here first before going to Ebay.

Priced at $350 with the lens, and a couple of 512 meg CF cards,
it is a fair deal for anyone wanting a sturdy dSLR in the 6.1 megapixel range. I have the manual as well.

I would suggest that buyers look at some of the newer Nikon models like the D3000 or D60, which are not as sturdy but have newer features if they are looking for a new camera.

If this older workhorse will fit you needs PM me.

Abu,

It is a sturdier camera than the D60, (which has been replaced by the D5000) but of course it is older technology.

I'm shooting a D200 and a D40x (the D40x) was replaced by the D60.

I really like my D40x but the shutter went out a couple months ago and it cost me $300 to get it repaired after only 20,000 shutter clicks.

I was just going to toss it until I found out new D40x's were in the $600-$800 range, more expensive than D60's?

I forgot to mention that the D100 has a charger, and three batteries, and Nikon software.

I can send you some high rez jpegs I did in Alaska at Icy Bay with DV in September if you want to see the D100 files.

I have had some inquires on this camera and would like to share some thoughts.

Since it is older technology, I think it would best be suited to a buyer that is looking for a sturdy dSLR that should hold up longer than some of the newer consumer models like the D40,D60,D3000 and D5000.

There are some very nice features in these newer cameras and they are small and light to carry.

I really love using my 10MP D40x for this reason.

My D100 is much more solidly built and for the price $350, with an 18-55 Nikon VR lens, charger, three batteries, manual, and some 512 Compact Flash cards it is a good deal for someone that would be happy with an older but very reliable camera.

The D100 has a smaller LCD than newer models, but is adequate.

For little more money, you can buy a D40, and a little bit more than that a D60.

These are good cameras and if you want a new puppy instead of an old dog, I'd personally recommend a buyer look at these cameras.

If you want solid camera and a good deal on an older piece of technology that still does a fine job, do take a look at my D100.

I will gladly email a couple of high resolution images I took in Alaska with this camera in September. They are large files, 17.2 meg when opened, a meg or two as compressed jpgs, so I would need your email address.

Sale will still be from here on PP so Bob will receive the commission.
