Glad to see you're plowing the internet field for work Mike. Have you applied for any of those yet? Actually, since the company i worked for closed my shop and another one of it's stores, I've been thinking of relocating to, you guessed it, husky land! My wife has a specialty type government job that would make relocation a snap for her, so i would be free to look for work in between fishing trips! We've actually considered woodinville due to it's proximity to seattle, red hook brewery , the sammamish runs through town, the sky and snoho are really close, etc. etc. etc. Now i just need the seahawks to offer a job as coach of the seagals and life will be complete

You can camp out on Vedder's doorstep and beg him to take you fishing until he finally relents. That's an added plus.
some of the board members used to post pictures of him in kinky leather outfits - i won't have to wear one of those will I? if it's required, i know you can get one from the castro for me! since you made it back alive from three rivers, you must not have told them where you reside it's nice to know your opinion of the area!

. When I was up there in Woodinville I threw them off the California scent by wearing my NoBama hat. They never dreamed anyone from here would wear something like that... I voted for Ron Paul, but Dogfish lives in McCleary, so that won't get me far in woodinville

So Mike might be in the neighborhood pretty soon, huh? Where's that lighter...............? I don't think you'd regret the move, Mike.

Kitsap has lots of government jobs with the Navy here. Closer to the OP, cheaper real estate and fewer cars. Silver City brews good beer as does Hood Canal Brewery. Good place for kids. Not the entertainment available that Seattle area has by far but I'm glad I relocated here from Seattle side. Of course, I'm a codger and a late night for me is if I'm out past 9:00.

Dammit Hank..........why are you always putting out my fire, so to speak? Aren't you thinking about relocating up here as well? Let me know well in advance, and I'll pick up a few things to give you a warm welcome.

There's a buildable lot two doors down...........my wife will sell it to you, and with the build-to-suit option, you can put in a moat so I can't set fire to the place. It's a nice neighborhood, not to far out from Olympia, but far enough out to have deer in the back yard, and elk standing in the cul-de-sac some mornings. You do realize that you'd almost be obliged to become a Husky and Seahawks fan, right?

C'mon, Hank.........those two teams are going places.
With Carroll and Sarkisian at the helms, and Joe Montana's kid Nick coming in to lead UW, it's not going to be long before both teams are back from oblivion.
On the lot size, I'm sure if you expressed your safety concerns to the developer, he'd let you build way back into the resource parcel.........just out of flaming arrow or catapult range.

I never meant to imply KK does yard work for a living. We all know that is not the case. Only that it would be sorta fun to have him and his goats come over and take care of my lawn... Hmmm, wouldn't that get PETA all up in arms having goats do the work of illegal immigrants? that's how the wealthy do it down here, maybe that would be another nice thing about washington state - nevet letting people do a goat's job. i'm not so certain that Spike or Hank could handle the 6 months of rain. sometime the Calis' go friggen nuts when the sun is never seen. they have never seen a river at high levels. have NEVER witnessed a "blown" river. have never put 4X4 into 4 wheel drive. Brewer! don't make me unleash my inner hick on you! did more 4 wheelin, huntin and fishin than all the goat roapers put together from my little town - maybe you had the type where you grew up, can of chew in the back pocket of the wrangler jeans and a Gilley's Bar bumper sticker on their 4x4 that always sat in the driveway or the grocery store parking lot out by the road so everyone could see their lift kit.

hitting the manischewitz early this morning aren't you? i was never a "cowboy" as i described those yahoo wanna-be goat-roapers. i despise the stereotypical californian as much as any of you - probably more since i've been dealing with them my whole life. try living in close proximity to marin county where BMW stands for basic marin wheels and you'll really know the meaning of the word revulsion.

I'd prefer you bring your Mom.................. But if ya can't do that, at least say hi for me. Try a Ridge Geyserville, and perhaps we can talk. c'mon KK, you're far wittier and have many better retorts than playing the "your momma" card were you late for an effette snob wine tasting and had to insult on the fly? for the wine, are you referring to Geyser Peak? i worked for them several years back - send me a PM and i'll tell you what you've really been drinking in those bottles, it's too disgusting for general reading! Oneway- i highly doubt you are one of "those" marinites - you have to get your hands dirty to fish, so you've gotta be okay.

Hey Mike,
My house in Elma is still for sale. 30 mins from Oly. It overlooks the river, and is within walking distance on a *pretty* good salmon hole, that you would pretty much have to yourself most of the time (private access only). I have lived there since 2006 winter (finished the house then). I have caught *a few* salmon before/after work down there.
Castinpearls brother in law has been plunking basically right out my back door for the last few weeks, I know they are hooking some steelhead. This is the place for you if you want the real WA experience.
*pretty* = Probably the best stacking hole above tidewater. * a few* = real numbers are bragging.

Just have her rent an apartment and stay 4 nights a week. I know people who have lived this way for years.

I am suspicious of your house for sale offer after this post. i mean, getting the wife an apartment makes perfect sense, but where are the pictures of the aforementioned fishing holes? is there something you aren't telling me, like bigstick living next door or something? based on the many locations you have to fish up there, it sounds like getting a decent place to call home and then couch surfing all your "new friends" is the way to go!

I have about 100 pictures from that one hole... One night after work, I put my 2 y.o. in the back pack and landed 6 adults (coho/kings) on 7 casts, then walked back for dinner. It was one of those times when you just smile and think "man, I must be living right."
The neighbors seem normal. Some of them are actually pretty cool.

everthing there looks like down here, maybe that's why we've been looking at that area. a little west of cottage lake is lake leona with some more good looking homes. thanks for the tip on the traffic - it has to be expected when considering jobs that may require commuting.

There are some options available, but PM me and I'll answer any questions you might have. I guess if you moved up here it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I don't want those 'other' Californicators reading about the area.....................you know...............like..........Hankster........ check your PM's

And Mike, make no mistake the 1-5 Corridorin the PNW is every bit as bad as the I-5 corridor in the bay area during the commute hour. I've experienced it first hand - our driver that picked us up at the airport just about stacked us up when traffic suddenly stopped near downtown. thankfully, we were headed to the hotel, so we changed our shorts before going to dinner. seattle really is just like SF, it just has better scenery and trees! i really enjoyed visiting seattle, just like i enjoy visiting SF, there are certain things that the metropolis offers that you can't get anywhere else.
