OK for simplicity, let's just call it "Name that Salmon"

That takes steelhead out of the running to make it a little easier. wink

Have at it boys.

Coho, its not too uncommon to see some spots on the whole tail, but it always makes you think twice. But upon further inspections, that tail is a bit see-thru like a humpy.

Scales are too big to be a pink. I have seen spots like that on some kokanee so....either a coho or a sockeye.

Wow, any of you guys ever caught a Chinook before? grin

Spots upper and lower on the tail fin, silvery streaks... looks like a 5-8 pound Chinookie to me.

cool

Spots are too small for a humpy. Possibly a chum but I really doubt it, Ill go with coho although the tail is one of the least accurate waysto identify a salmon.

Winter Blackmouth! Spots are too small and not enough to be a Pink. Plus there's some silver in the tail... not yellowish like a Pink. The only other salmon that have spots on the tail are Coho but I've never seen one with spots on the lower lobe.
