Mickey the Dam

Huntncoug's Blue the Sire hopefully

Just noticed Mickey is in heat and the timing is about perfect for pups.I have PMed Huntncoug the news as we have talked about breeding the the dogs before but I have not confirmed with him yet. I want both dogs looked at by a vet first and of coarse his blessing. I have homes for 2 pups now and would like to have homes for at least 2 or 3 more pups before I have her bread. Both dogs have good pedigrees but the pups will not be registered and an agreement that the pups will be fixed is part of the deal. I have always believed a dog should mature before being fixed but that doesn't need to be part of the deal. Mickey is an Indoor/outdoor family dog that loves everyone even cats and is very mellow. She was purchased for duck hunting. She retrieves, loves doing it but hasn't been formally trained and doesn't get to do it enough. She is very birdy, changes personality and is all business in the field. She also loves a fishing trip. First and foremost she is a constant companion. She goes to work with me almost everyday and spends a lot of time in my truck. I paid above average money for Mic because I wanted a quality, healthy dog.My hunting buddy owns her 3/4 brother Gunner. (same sire and dams sister)He has many of the same traits with a bit more energy. After hunting with that dog for the first hour of it's career with very little training I new I wanted a dog from the same lines and I wasn't disappointed. Although Gunner is a bit smaller(80ish) her Mom(over 90lbs) and dad(about 110) are big dogs and so is she. ( 90+) She has a big head, one of my favorite traits when I look for a lab and Its bigger than it appears in the pic. I am not looking for $$$ just good homes. Cost of the pups will cover shots dew claw removal for field dogs and normal vet bills incurred. If you really want a lab, have a good place for it and are low on funds talk to me. Don't BS me just talk to me. I am not doing this for money and know it will cost me more than what I get out of the pups. I don't want pups around without good homes. I do believe these are both very good dogs. Mickey's parents were Chocolate and Yellow. Any ?s please ask. I will ask Huntncoug to post about Blue here Too. If things go as planned the pups should be heading to their new homes about May 22nd.

All unclaimed pups will be dropped off with Parker's Kids while he is off fishing for the weekend.

Art, let's talk about it...it's about time I get a new male lab pup, and blacks are my preferred color...but we do need to talk about it, as I'd like him to be uncut, though not necessarily for breeding purposes. I could care less if they have papers, because I don't raise dogs for money and there's not much of a reason to have papers unless you want to do that.

If that's not a deal breaker, then let's talk...May is the perfect timing for me, too.

Fish on...

Todd

I'd like to be considered in the loop also. After losing my old lab last fall...late spring might be the right time for a new member of the family. Nice looking "stock" that you're contemplating crossing. I've raised pups before, and always wanted to make sure they went to better than average homes, so I totally respect what you're trying to do. I live in the country, on several acres, and the pup would probably be a "truck dog" with me on a daily basis. Thanks, Kyle

Cool! It's about damn time. I'm pretty sure Sophie, after 13 years, had her swan song last weekend, so I'm encouraging my friends to get dogs that I can hunt over. Not to sure I'm excited about sharing the front seat of your 'toon with a Lab however... smile

Oh, I just thought of a name....Stout? Please, not Busch.

"Gettin Wet Busch" To bad they aren't going to be registered.
Then Todd could always be hanging out with good ol GW and drinking Busch.

The last one was Guinness Stout, so I'd need to come up with something new, I think...

Let me see if I can talk the wife into a second. We currently have a female Chocolate and have talked about getting a second. No papers and snipping are not an issue.

The backyard isn't completely fenced in - there's the "rock" wall between us and neighbors. That wouldn't keep any dog in.

Unless one of you or Art is going to pony up the needed funds for full fencing of the backyard, I just don't see a dog in my future.

But yeah, the kids *would* love a lab.

My cat is the mellowest cat alive. He'd get used to a new puppy in 2 seconds and it wouldn't be an issue after that.

As for a dog name - Stam's got that locked up with his dogs: "Dumb Dog".

Best name ever for a dog!

The "cat" would explain my dog's interest in the rod tube.

I could throw in a petsafe underground fence system free to a good home if it helps !!!!!!

Parkers a heartless Bassturd not haven a dog for his kids and all. Poor thing wouldn't last to long anyway. Be just like the drift boat. Get a good deal then decide a few weeks later he doesn't need it and kicks it to the curb.

.

Just kidden around. I have never met Parker. His friends say his word is good and that alone brings him to OK status with me. Sure are paths will cross eventually.

Forget the kids! I'd love to have one of those labs! I want a hunting dog. Problem is that I live in Seattle and not Walla Walla any more.

After growing up on a 5-acre Ranch and had golden retrievers, I personally feel that keeping a big dog in the city is a borderline crime.

If I lived somewhere where I had some land and could let the dog run free (for the most part), I'd be all over it.

Confined in an 8,000 square foot backyard in the middle of Seattle is not my idea of properly raising a lab.

Damn Parker, you must live over in the wedgwood/sandpoint area to have a back yard that big.

Wedgwood

I wouldn't say I overlook Sandpoint, but I can see the lake from the house.

Not often enough for my kids, apparently. Been there a couple of times.

I'm spitting distance from The Fiddler....although I never go there and tend to frequent the Wedgwood Ale House.

You should ask TJCarroll about his Wedgwood Neighborhood tranny "guest". rofl
