good luck those rods are pretty hard to find around i found one at a garage sale this summer and a few weeks later a person that i took out fishing managed to break the metal real seat " real weird" never seen a real seat break like it did i sent it back to fenwick they laughed and said this thing was way too old although i did talk them into sending me a brand new hmx for free i would check some of the antique shops i see them there every once in a while they usually want an arm & leg for them but good luck!!!!!

Ya they are hard to come by but it's worth a shot I guess. They still do make the FS83 but it's a spinning rod. By far the best plugging rods in my opinion.

Hello DriftWood,
I noticed your request for the Fenwick FS83C and it gave me a good reason to register after being a lurker here since September. I do have one that has seen very, very little use. It belonged to my father and has been stored in the original Fenwick rod case for many years. The only flaw is that the tip had been broken off at exactly 3" from the end. There was an other tip guide added at that point. It looks like the job was done well. When I compared it to my FS83C I looked at how spaghetti thin that last 3" were and thought it might not be that bad of a thing to lose that. If you think that it will work for you shoot me an e-mail and I can send you a photo. And a hello to all the members that I have been learning from for the last three months. Thank You, Gary Mullene

Thanks for the reply directdrive. Man I wish the rod wasn't missing some of the tip. The tip is important to me on a plug rod. I'm sure it will make a great rod after putting on a new tip, but I think I will pass. Looks like you have another taker anyways. Thanks again

I am in the process of going thru my too large collection of poles and reels. I do think I have at least one FS83C that has seen very little use, occasional plunking trip only. We have been gone for the holidays so I am just now getting back to checking postings etc. . Let me know if you are still looking . I have know idea what to ask for it, but don`t really expect to make a killing . Will look for your reply. Laterun
