I got this from several acquaintences today. It was reported to be found dead on the Wilson River. It was reported to be unspawned. The reports said it weighrd 39 plus pounds when found. I have no other information.

It's BS. I have walked every inch of that river from Lee's camp to the mouth and there is no place with that kind of background. Not to mention the water has a deep green to it right now.
Another note is the rock composition is not consistant with the gravel in the lower Wilson. The rocks in the picture are shale and not found in the lower Wilson.

It is a pretty fish, but it is way more likely to be that of a Kispiox or Babine summer fish. Maybe that's why there is limited background in the pic.

Holy crap! Unless the water is distorting, the head and jaw line on that fish is awsome. Need a better broad side look!

Looks like a fin whale.

No doubt it's a nice fish, but there's some major distortion of its proportions caused by the angle/composition.

I don't see any of the classic big spots on the head that we usually see in an Atlantic, but if it is an Atlantic, its still a pig!

Too bad that fish can't be frozen and given to a taxidermist. Specifically David Campbell.

I need a 40 pound steelhead mount for when I catch mine!

Campbell's mounts only go to about 31-32 pounds, depending on the head.

Also, I find it really hard to believe they only took one picture of it. If it was me, and i found that fish, I would have taken at least two.
