OMG! Dave , it is the Mother to all puget sound river steelhead. They all probably committed mass suicide by drinking elliott bay sludge when they found out there would be no anglers to try to C&R them. To try and challenge their awesome strength and trickery.............Yep life is CRAP!!

I think it is a monster steelhead, but I agree that doesn't look like the Wilson, at least the water hasn't been that clear in some time.
Kind of bothers me to see a dead chrome buck like that. Doesn't look like he got to do his thing.....

Something is terribly wrong with the head on that thing.
Kevin, we need to go for a walk.
I can show you shoreline like that on the UPPER Wilson and Trask.

Crap. Not this again.
It's obviously an early springer/coho hybrid. A springho. I'd swear my reputation on it. You just don't see anal fins like that on any steelhead, chinark, or coho!
Looks like the South Fork of the Blowsmoke River, or Internetlore Creek. Both will hold beasts like that.

Good lord! That's mind boggling.
Wonder why they didn't actually weigh them - as their "estimated" weights don't match up with our standard formula.
I've always wondered how close those formulas really are - and if it makes a difference for a winter/summer fish.

The equation used on the giant summer fish on the skeena is different from our normal equation (lengthx girthxgirth divided by 775) The equation that seems to be excepted up there is girth x girth x length x 1.33 divided by 1000 which puts those fish at 40.62 and 40 pounds. One of the reasons I believe fish up there are typically heavier is because their head is so much bigger and bodies seem to be broader.

Crazy that one of those fish was determined to be 13 years old and back spawning for a 4th time! Gotta protect those kelts...

Pic looks Photoshopped to me too, seems like they did some stretching... look around the eye, most of the photo is fairly crisp but in certain areas there is a blur and some doubling. Even with that said, looks more like a coho than a steelhead to me. The angle of the photo adds 8lbs and the photoshop job adds 10-12 lbs so, a nice pig of a coho is turned into an unbelievable steelhead... fun stuff
