I am not saying that the electorial college isn't valid. I'm saying that I believe that the popular vote is also important as an indicator.

I don't mind being called an ass by someone who clearly has no idea how the government works, and when I tell them, they continue to believe what they want to believe...it's pretty clear who the ass is at that point.

How'd you speak out about Dubya's "mandate" in his second term when he won the electoral college by about 6%, and the popular vote by 2.4%?

GWB claimed "mandate" in both 2000 and 2004 and the 'conservatives' of this country agreed wholeheartedly.

Obama won the presidency with almost the same margin of victory that Reagan did over Carter... and yet 'conservatives' continually want to ignore and do their abject best to trivialize this fact?

I'd say that it seems as if some of the Dems are the one's who are pissed. May have something to do with the fact that things just aren't going as smoothly as hoped? As in........the "Let's hold hands and jump" group is disbanding at an alarming rate.

I never once uttered the word steelhead or get the net or take me to shore. I couldn't see sh!t. Clearly a mandate on the rowers part .

I'm blameless...I wasn't holding a fishing rod and thinking I might have a steelhead on when it was really a five pound dolly, and I wasn't rowing the boat to shore to net it, and calling it a steelhead like our illustrious rower was...
