just a question why is it ok to kill a fish like that but not a wild steelhead. big fish like that are not the best eating and she would make a lot of babies.

i agree, but only kind of. i think i'd allow myself one of those in a lifetime to bring home. it would feed an army, certainly would not go to waste. bringing home a big nate would give you a bbq with a few of your buddies, and shame--that's pretty much it. i've never caught one like that, but they certainly aren't as rare as a 30# steelhead. enjoy the feast, ryley
