Adding Texas, Texas AM, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St and Colorado to create the Pac 16.

Think this will happen or not? All about the TV $$$$$ in my opinion.

It will happen in some form or another and Boise State will get invited to the MWC this weekend as well...it would be a crime for ASU to not be able to beat up on UW each year under the new format, other than that it sounds good:)

What about adding Fresno St, Boise St, Nevada, Utah, Utah St and BYU?

The quality of the football matchups would be phenomenal, and the basketball would be pretty fair as well, but I agree that some of the non-BCS teams from this region that have been on the outside looking in for too long (BYU, Utah, and Boise St. come to mind most immediately) should get the call first. Just seems to make more sense, especially from a geographic standpoint.

It does appear that the Big 12 may be getting broken up, but if that happens, I would rather see a return to the old Southwest Conference, plus Oklahoma and OK State, in that region. Send the 6 teams from the Big 12 North to the Big 10. That would improve both conferences, in my mind.

Pac 11 so far.....Colorado just accepted their invitation to join.

Please don't bring in any Texasss or Oklahoma teams.

For those who wanted Boise St in the Pac 10, it isn't going to happen. Wasn't a good fit and they just accepted an invitation to join the Mountain West.

From a pure fan standpoint. I think it is great. I could get to drive to Seattle to watch Texas and/or Oklahoma every 4 years? I'm loving that.

Heading into these larger mega-conferences is the first step to getting the BCS to be a playoffs like everyone wants to see.

Yes, Colorado joined up yesterday. Now they are trying to figure out how to pay the $9 million penalty for leaving the Big 12. Perhaps if the conference dissolves, that won't be an issue.

Good news is the Cougar football would no longer be ranked 10th in the Pac 10, the bad news is though they'll now be ranked 16th!

Don't worry Chuck, they'll still be room at the bottom of the barrell for the Dawgs.

The big 12 will now let Texas have its own TV network while the other members get their crumbs.
Kudos to Larry Scott for his effort. After all the years of weak Tom Hansen as the Pac 10 commissioner, maybe we can actually see a Pac 10 game on TV every Saturday night.

What makes 2004 the measuring stick? Was it the fact that UW kicked Duck and Beaver ass for decades prior to that? Some teams played football before 2004, but you probably don't know anything about that.

I'd recommend getting within 20 wins and three Rose Bowl trophies of UW before you spew much more about how great Oregon teams are.

Keep bragging. Just keep in mind that nobody outside the state of Oregon believes it. Beating up a horrible UW team doesn't make you great. Winning the league and a BCS bowl does...........but UO and OSU are both lacking in that department. So, in spite of the fact that OSU and UO have owned UW recently, neither team has done much to impress.
