Cant say I want my kids to grow up like this one but gotta give this guy his due...just stole another plane and dumped it in the Bahamas. FBI now involved and it appears law enforcement is getting pissed by being shown up by this kid for the past two years. Guess I dont have a huge problem with it as he has not hurt anyone but he is a punk thief for sure with thousands of fans on Facebook, America at its finest!

Here is his Facebook link, pretty funny...

Obviously the kid isnt stupid.

Would have been great to see him channel that energy and intelligence in a different way.

Pretty damn funny, till it's your boat, car, plane he steels. There appears to be a chance that's who stole Rico's car.

Still . . . he's got brass balls and is making the cops look like fools. You can bet this will end poorly for him. Cops don't like to look like fools.

If he had a gun he would die in a hail of police bullets. I think he's smarter than that.

Amazing the guy taught himself to fly on the internet, has stolen at least 5 planes, crashed them all and walked away to do it again. Sure id be pissed if it was my stuff but that is what insurance is for I suppose.

They say he could make millions from book and movie deals right now and some attnys have offered free representation. I'd do my time, cash in and have a few laughs about it in 10 years but dont think thats the way this story ends.

Agree. I doubt he's having much fun. Some chick will probably screw him in more ways than one.

Look at it this way:

The sumb*tch has been living in the woods like a wild animal since before he had hair on his sack (12).

He has ran circles around all these 'Professional' LEO's for almost a decade.

He taught himself how to fly light aircraft by stealing a pamphlet.

He came clean once and for all his honesty and goodwill got sent to an awful half-way house which he broke out of and was never seen again and I'm sure never plans on becoming another 'ward of the state.'

The kid has made such an art of being a fugitive that he made his escape from US jurisdiction better than what Butch & Sundance pulled off a century ago, and he's half as old as they were.

In my book, despite his 'crimes', he's earned a break. He's had to do what he's needed to survive.

The fukker ought to be teaching SpecOps and USAF pilots survival skills.

Mixed feelings on this kid myself.

Terrible waste of talent if you ask me. Life on the run can't be any life at all.

Can't say I blame him for wanting to escape being a ward of the state.

As far as insurance taking care of his tendency to steal and destroy the property of others,...........think about that the next time you bitch about how high your insurance premiums are.

+1. Clearly the guy has some gifts that 99.99% of the population do not have. Unfortunately, he has had a sh!t existence, and the part of his brain that makes decisions does not function very well (at least by the standards of American law).

I, for one, am rooting for this kid..

It's not like he's stealing for his drug habit. The kid comes from a chitty family, the cops want to exterminate him, and he's just a punk kid..

Corporate thief’s get slapped on the wrist and they steal MILLIONS from people, and hurt their day to day lives, and even into the far off future..

This kid has done nothing but cause a minor inconvenience for people...at least until the insurance check rolls in.

No question there are worse skin sacks on the planet then a kid who decided to take a joy ride, or 20, in other people's cars, boats, planes, exc.

The problem is even though there is absolutely zero justice in this country for corporate thieves who happen to be politically connected it is no justification for theivery on any level. Start sliding down that slope and pretty soon anything goes.

Are there worse things in this country than what this kid is doing?,....without question. Something I'd be proud to see my kids do? No way.

I have had my car stolen, house broken into, etc. It sucks for a couple days, but that's it.

The kid has not hurt anyone, nor has he even threatened too. He’s just a little kid over his head, and is displaying the natural urge to run from danger.

I'm in no way condoning what the kid has done, but just see it in a different light.

Entertaining to say the least... Puzzling how a kid can evade some of the best...

Bummer for those that have lost property though. Unacceptable and the book should be thrown at him.

Every person in life is given the opportunity to make choices and should suffer the consequences when the break the law...

I think he watched the Tom Hanks / Leonardo DiCaprio movie; "Catch Me If You Can" one too many times myself.

It's about a guy who posed as everything from an airline pilot to a doctor and made fools out of the FBI agents chasing him. It was based on a true story too.

The folks I vanpool with were talking about this on the way home yesterday. One of the riders works for the Attorney General's office, and she was working in Island County during part of this kid's spree. She said none of the enforcement officers around there called him the Barefoot Bandit; they all called him Boltin' Colton.

With hindsight, I'm not sure why any of you needed to know that....

I heard that Colton has probably had some help while up in the islands in the form of food, shelter, and hiding from police. So credit for not getting caught might not all be due to his ingenuity. He does score points for learning to fly a plane on the internet tho. His landing skills sure could use some improvement, 0/5 is only a good record in that he walked away from them.

As for theft being a mere inconvenience, it's an inconvenience I would handily kill him for had he done it to me. I believe in consequences and justice.

Where are all the people who would shoot a tweaker at first sign of stealing their stuff? He's no different.

And you are currently a knucklehead. You should live a few more years, if you are lucky. Then you will not be so gracious to people who take what you have labored so hard to earn.
