The Coens have been my favorite for a long time. I have really high hopes for this movie. Especially after NCFOM. Brolin makes a good cowboy, and the Dude just one an oscar for Crazy Heart where he was sort of a cowboy.

True Grit is possibly my all time favorite movie.

I wish they'd leave the classics alone.
Is Hollywood completely out of new ideas?

And that line from the movie apparently beat out, "I'm walking here, I'm walking here". What a travesty! Mediocre, at best, acting beat out probably two of the best ever performances in "Midnight Cowboy". But it was the "Duke's" last chance and he did fall with his horse. I'm surprised Glen Campbell didn't get best supporting actor.

Should be good; looks like a good combination, Coens, Bridges, et al.

John Wayne was 61 when True Grit was made. He'd already lost one lung and, sadly, would get winded very easily and could not walk very far. His stand-in spent almost as much time on the set as John did. You can't tell it from the finished product as the film was cut to fit the situation as mmost films are.

Not too sure I'm into the remakes either....

Dad and I watched every Western movie growing up.

It would be like changing Tombstone, don't know you could make the movie any better........
