Above Monty and down from Fuller Bridge....Fish on the move, some very "ugly ones" mixed in with some brighties. Not many biters, for the amount of fishermen........not many boats in that stretch of the river.

Bankies in places, I've not seen many people, in the 40+ years I've been fishing that area......

BTW there was a couple dudes in an old little Gregor that bagged a nice king. My crew was aghast when they hoisted that beast over the gunnel. Clearly a king by the fight... and even more obvious when the thick chunky blush-bellied beast was pulled out of the water.

That fish stayed aboard for over two minutes while those guys dicked around with it. Then there was no activity for a while. Finally they decided to throw it overboard.

I pulled alongside to politely let them know that you can't pull fish out of the water if they are going to be released.

Their ignorant cop-out was that they "didn't know it was a king".

Pretty bogus if you ask me.

Even if you gave them the benefit of the doubt, did it really take 3 minutes with the fish out of the water to finally figure it out? If they really didn't know, why didn't they just keep it? Just like the other ignorant b'tards out there doing the same thing? Fish checker I know creeled four kings in the first week of the fishery. Again folks pleading ignorance. Funny though how one of the boats had their kings segregated in separate bags from their coho. Didn't know? YGTFK, right?

Work really hard to ensure maximum recreational opportunity in my neck of the woods. Hate to see it squandered due to ignorant fishermen.

Well, I sure hope the bay is hoppin'. We seem to need some fresh fish in the rivers. I fished the lower Sop for about 3-4 hours this afternoon. There were definitely a few fish around, but it wasn't anything like what I was hoping for. Didn't talk to anyone who had any luck (but I did hear a few "soulda been here yesterday" accounts), and sure didn't have any action myself.

Folks are speculating that the relatively high flows for this time of year (actually seem about average to me) may be hurrying the fish upstream without taking time to stop and bite our lures. Sounds like a bunch of befuddled fishermen looking for excuses to me....

fishy and fishy hello

Better fish while you can....between the Cowboys netting 10/08 for 12 hours and the QIN 10/10 - 10/14, then top that off with the "rains coming", could be a tough few weeks in the Chehalis.

Satsop should be jammed, with fish, by 10/11........just have to catch the water fishable....

Be safe!!!!!!!!!

WOW, doesn't anyone work??????

Never saw a fish caught, in any other boats........What I did see was the Monty boat launchers, trying to run to the Satsop........and the Fuller Bridge launchers trying to run to tide water. Zip, zip, zip.....freeway speeds, run here, run there....go, go, go

Some ugly rollers......Saw all kinds of stuff being used, nothing working.

Be safe...........

Bay up to S Monte lost two. Bite was at slack after that on flood not much. There are a lot of fish in the river and Central Park down a bright but they have lock jaw. Seals are having a field day and saw 5 fish caught by them. Herring seems to be the best but ................... In all the slots deeper side the fish finder showed full up fish and each one had a seal. Going down in the morning saw over 10 jumpers before slack.

It is about right place right time.

Yes, you should be concerned.

My concern is the river will rise and the fishing will suck.

Here's what I say:

click on the following site.

http://www.nwd-wc.usace.army.mil/nws/hh/basins/data.html?chh+crpw

If the numbers for the Satsop and/or the Chehalis, at Porter.....go up, up, up starting late Friday.....then I'd stay home and watch the Seahawks......if the numbers don't change much.........then I'd be there with 200 other boats.

Good luck.........stay safe!!!!!!!

This link is NOAA and is the gauges as predictions based upon rainfall. By the 10th Satsop flows 4x what they are now. Just click on the gauge but also notice the Chehalis at Grand Mound does not do much but it takes 4 days for upper Chehalis water to make Aberdeen.

That's a good link to have, I don't remember the flow rates and height that indicates the river is "blown" but hopefuly someone will. Unless we get 2 inches of rain in the next 4 days the rivers shouldn't blow out too bad and will come back into shape quickly.

Cowboys(non indian) can only net the lower Chehalis, yea, yea, yea.....upper line is the "Lakeside Asphalt Company", so you should have plenty of room to fish!!!!

Wondering what been happening today on the river as far as fish and also weather. Looks like rain and winds in the 20mph range all day tomorrow in the Monty/Aberdeen area.

Was down that way yesterday....lots of boats out...few fish caught. Any better today? Not sure I want to get soaked if it's dead , considering the cowboy nets in today.

Any updates appreciated. Thanks
