I didn't even have to unload my boat today. The Man, the Myth, the FnP was down there doing it for tips! I have some beer for you Francis.

Hard day of fishing today. I figure we ended up with a bite every 500 casts or so.

FF02 got a nice one early on. That was the highlight.

Oh yeah, the river is skinny in some areas. We tried to help out a guy who ran his boat a little too shallow. Hopefully he got freed up without too much damage.

The fishing sure seemed more difficult this year. WDFW creel reports verify that impression. Through about Oct 3 the fish checker shows fish per angler trip at about 34% of last year at Cosi and about 70% of last year at Monte. Apparently there are less people fishing and a lot fewer fish being caught. My guess is that this run could easily be half of the prediction.

Does any one have any info on how the cowboys did? I watched most of one net pull below the 101 bridge and only saw one fish.

Give it time, the fish will come. The Humptulips was just getting the start of the fresh regular silvers this last weekend so the fish are still on their way. Rivers have been late this year but I still have faith that the run will be a good one.

If you're reading this.......finish and get on the road....

Rain very light, if I could I'd be fishing this morning....

Down in the harbor....gill net boats had the river "super dirty", from all the run, run, run..might be ok now.

Fuller Bridge area, might be good.......Around Monty should be half way clear.

Satsop, still too low for much "jet traffic"

Good luck.....tight lines

The river is rising. Color was fine today, but the bite was mostly off. I'd be worried about the Satsop kicking in some color by tomorrow.

Satsop and Wynooche will both be puking mud and whole trees by the morning.

Sounds like a gravel truck dumping a load on my skylights right now.

Hump too, Tuesday should be good if the rain stops completely Sunday AM sometime. Lower Chehalis maybe but will turn to dark chocolate milk quickly if it hasn't already. Spinners from the bank will still catch fish but nets go in at noon so get up early.

Look at the 10 day and things look good.

http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/weather/10_day.cgi

Hit the river gauges in this and you will see it crested much above what was forecast but drops like a rock after Sunday. The upper Chehalis did not get as much rain so the 4 day drag before that water reaches will not be as bad. The Grand Mound gauge & Porter work best I think.

http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=sew

On another note ............... off to the East Cape after Yellowfin & Bills. Everyone be careful on the Chehalis because the high tides kicked a bunch of deadheads loose and with the new junk coming down you need to keep your eyes open.

4 rigs at fuller today. looked like they were all ancorhed just above the mouth of the satsop which is puking mud and trees. satsop came up 5 feet in 12 hours. chehalis is backing up from the satsop being up and showing a little color

wow....what a change.....blue skies and sunny, 1:30 pm....if only the rains would have been spread out over a 2 week period.

Will be good for the retired, the un-employed, and the others about Tuesday or Wednesday......

We'll keep the working few, in mind !!!!!! Thanks so much !!!!!

Anyone know how the cowboys netters did??????? QIN, went in at 12:00 p.m., don't know how the nets will do with all the "logging crap" that gets washed into the river, during rainfalls, like we had, in the past 36 hours.

Just went for a drive.........Wynoochee and then to the Montasano boat ramp........both were muddy but the Chehalis really looks ugly.....and for sure the tree's and other crap was flowing down the river.

It'd be tough for the QIN to use any "set nets", as the "stuff" was everywhere in the river....
