Looking for a float that is easy to rig and will work well in low clear water. I am new to float fishing ... are the floats at the link below any good? Looks like they have weight on them? Looking to use with bait or plastic eggs. Appreciate any help.

The Thill floats are great, if a bit spendy. I like the Turbo Master series as they are stable with lighter weights. The TM 1 and TM3 are my go to floats for delicate presentation. Experiment a bit to see which size best carries the bait/lure you want to use. One good thing about the Thills is they are easily interchangeable. Do order some extra tubing as if you drop that small blue one in the rocks it's damn hard to find.

Good luck!

Clear Crystal Piker Floats........

Used them most of the summer, EXCELLENT, for summer run in clear water.

http://www.psfishing.com/chrystal-piker-fishing-floats.html

Used Style A in 4 or 5 inch.....but ordered some of B also

With braided line, haven't lost a float in 5+ years.........so why not pay a little more, and have a good float.....

"Bobber Down" !!!!!!!!

i love the turbo masters, what really sucks is that they changed the size of the little blue tubing that goes on the steel shaft, and it just slides off when you're using anything under 10lb test(which is the only time i'm going to use those things).

i've tried the steelhead stalker/beau mac equivalent(i think they come off the same line) and they work, but they have a tendency to cartwheel and foul everything up instead of flying true like the thills. with my 10'6 lite lamiglas, i can toss an 1/8oz jig with a split shot about 30 yards with the turbo master.

Chum where are you finding those turbos down here?

I've been using the Beau Macs and occasionally deal with the cartwheel issues as well.

.........from the guy who wrote the book (literally).

Thill RiverMasters are good too if you can find them.

I love drennan zepplers in the 8 gram and 11 gram for low clear water. I actually use the 11 gram most of the year. I think you can get them at fishusa.com.
