Nothing ends a hunt like having your Bino's fog up, about 7 years ago I purchaced a pair of Brunton Eterna 10X42 (I would call them mid range optics) .

Last day of muzzleload season out of the blue both tubes fogged up internally. These are supposed to have a life time warrenty, I have all the paperwork. I called the manufacture got a return authorization number.

Anyone have any experience with having the gas recharged? They claim two weeks turnaround, and that this rarely happens.

I may need to buy another pair of bino's for the late hunt, any cheap good glasses out there?

Can't answer your question Jason but I have been disappointed with Brunton. I bought one of their $50 windproof lighters.....POS.
I like the whole buy American thing but...
If your binos don't come back in time borrow a buddies.

Check out Zen-Ray ED2. They have gotten pretty good reviews and the company is out of Oregon.

I have a pair of the cheaper model, and I like them for what they are.

I myself own Swarovskis. I know, hooray for me....

The reason I shared I owned them was that I was rather impressed with a set of Vortex Binos that I compared to my own binos. The Vortex binos are a mere fraction of the price and they are surprisingly clear and very affordable. If I was in the market for a set of back up binos, I'd buy a pair in a heartbeat.

Last night my brother in law let me look through his binos. Swarovski 10x50 SLC. They are incredible! Made me want to throw mine away, until I heard about the "great deal" he got on them - $2,100.

He is still killing the same amount of game as me. Which is nothing. We both have to work so much that we can afford to buy hunting stuff, but can't afford the time to actually hunt.

if you think those are awesome, take a look at a pair of ELs. couldn't believe that they could be nicer than the SLCs, but i was blown away...

I had the same pair of bruntons you have and I sent them back because they just weren't as clear as the good ole days when they were new. Might have been my eyes, but what the heck. I called them and the gal said send em in and we will get you a new pair. Well about a week goes by and there on my porch is the ups guy handing me a brand new and I mean the newer model of Brunton eterna binos. Great service and no questions asked. You will be happy with their service.

So it was a pretty quick turnaround, got them back today. New pair, 11X45 much more compact than the origionals.

Only problem, the new ones are made in CHINA
