Tye seems ravenous all the time. He often leaves some of his food, but he is always ready to eat anything else he can find, and his nose is always scanning the area for anything resembling food. Is that normal for a lab pup?

In my experiance with labs there is no such thing as normal and there is no "average" lab. I think each one believes in and celebrates their own uniqueness.
Had one that ate all the time, always ready for food. Had a couple that ate when they felt like it, even if food was out.
One climbed trees to get at the apples, another loves the peanuts and sunflower seed that is out there for the birds.

I think with pups, labs especially, you only need to worry when they don't want to eat .. .

I think labs are more food oriented than some other breeds. My old German shorthair and my bud's two Small Munsterlanders all can take it or leave it.
Olly (my lab pup) figured out how to knock off the lid to the feed bin, and after his stomach looked like a basketball inserted was the only time he ignored the food.
Labs being food oriented helps with training, seemingly.

Dave, Bella my 2yo female is the same, except she never leaves anything in her bowl. I don't think its atypical, Bella is high drive and 64lbs of eat and go, I say enjoy it.

Did you not see them eat as fat little 6 week old pups. Radar will eat anything he thinks is food just so nothing else will eat it before him.

My 21 week lab/chesapeake is the same way. Pretty much like a hoover vacuum at this age it seems. Also chews on EVERYTHING right now, that didn't start til recently. Smart as a whip though.

Labs seem like hungary dogs in general. I have a black and yellow, the yellow male Sage will suck up any crumb he can find and have no problem stealing a steak off the table. The black female Chinook is a little older and smarter and likes her food but would never eat anything not given to her.

I now have 2 - 11wk old Doberman "terrorist" pups on my hands. . . been awhile since I have had a pup, they always seem to be ravenous, looking for any food, or anything that will pass for food. ..
Been a fun drive from WI this week.
