Nice! You should do a european skull mount of it... Art, I've done a few of those mounts. Pretty easy and very inexpensive. It is a bit smelly, and messy getting the flesh off, but the boys like theirs.

Never looked for the beatles.
I'm going the maceration route this time. Bucket of water, let it rot for a while (week or two), then boil it. The last one I did for a friend was just plain boiled and it didn't turn out as good as the rot and boil. Stinky, but effective.

The old rot-n-boil huh... sounds like the X's cooking had a buddy that would tie a rope around em and toss em into the lake for a while...

I've done quite a few euro's. A buddy of mine is a taxidermist, he hooked me up with some powder you add to the boil and any fleshy stuff just falls right off. As in, I'm pretty sure you could boil for a little while, then grab an antler, and shake it clean. Reallllllllly slick way to do them.
A secondary method, is to boil in hydrogen peroxide. This not only cuts down on the stink, but bleaches the skull a blinding white, while aiding in flesh removal....
Like all those ascot wearin' feather flingers say.... "slow, and low..." This holds true for duration and heat of a euro boil....

Awesome job! My daughters are showing a little interest in hunting. I will probably let the oldest take the class when she is 10 or 11 if she is still interested then.

If you decide to use Sodium Carbonate, USE A MASK AND GOGGLES. That stuff will irritate your eyes and nose for the better part of a day. Trust me, I found out the hard way. lol.

Nice work you two!! I remember it well...Enjoy it all!
[quote=Achewter] With Ice water in her vaines and camo hair she droped this one in its tracks while it walked behind a Doe at 158 yards on the range finder. She was jumping around and High 5ing me after the shot. The next day Drake made my day by making a great shot on a Doe he had spotted on his own on his way to a stand. It was a proud Papa weekend for me...
