I submitted a lake report, but I just couldn't resist posting here too. Was out Saturday fishing for trout (or pretty much anything) with worms on the bottom when I caught him. Very nice 18 inch cat. Forgot to weigh him, but I got quite a bit of meat. Enough for a decent sized meal. I skinned and cleaned him, and am debating on if I should fillet him. Anyone got any good recipies for catfish?

They plant all sorts of fish there. I would stop by there anytime I was going from Oly to B-ham when my wife and I were dating, she went to WWU. Never caught a catfish, but I have caught browns, cutthroat, and what looked like juvenile steelhead.

Blackened catfish is on of my favorites. Cast iron skillet with about 2 tbsp of canola oil heated so water pops when you add a drop. Sprinkle the fish liberally with cajun seasoning and toss it in. Only takes about 5-7 minutes.

Nice fish. Back home, we roll in yellow cornmeal, sprinkle with a few drops of Tobasco and fry in hot oil( hot as possible without scorching will seal fish so it's doesn't get greasy). Use extra cornmeal to make hushpuppies. Enjoy, Bart
