"My bet? The major and I mean only the major transit lines will be cleared, the rest of the city will be frozen solid."
Isn't this what they already said is all they would be doing? pretty safe spot there Irie

I'll see that bet, and raise ya that we get hammered by snow on several occassions, and they can't even keep the major's clear enough to keep traffic and commerce moving. Complaints will flow because the side streets are left untouched and after days of complaints the Mayor will be forced to re-evaluate the new plan, then start plowing all the side streets too, starting with his, of course.
Out here in the desolate lands of Woodinville, we always seems to get a x4 magnification of any bad weather the rest of the region gets. Something about being in the eastern side of the convergence zone I think. During the snows of 08, we had 26" at the height of it the day after Christmas, and only those with good 4WD and AWD made it out of the driveway for a week.
I say bring it on this year.... we have 2 AWD vehicles, including a new Outback with new Conti ExtremeContact DSW tires put on yesterday ( they're really nice, highly recommended btw!)
.....& On an uncharacteristicly fishy note for the dark side, the fishing is usually great when it snows and you have the river to yourself, too.
bring it!
