I was out this morning fishing hard with my sons. Report has been posted. We caught one huge hooknose on a sockeye setup. Seems like that was the hot rig for today, as I saw a boat catching a fair number on it. Overall pretty slow. I'll be out again Wednesday I hope. Anyone know why a coho would strike at a bare hook? I understand why we think sockeye do, but what's the rational for a coho hitting a bare hook???

Hmmmm, interesting! Kings like the barehook deal as well as tested in Lake Sammamish.

I see lots of folks still trolling hoochies, cut-plugs, and coyote spoons out on the lake. Thats fine. Coyotes prolly work the best out of that group of lures. I'm a fan of sticking to what works for me. And for me its the wiggle warts. I Limit out every time I go. I don't think I've spent more then 20-30 minutes max fishing out on LK WA for silvers.

Which launch is the best launch to go to? I am familiar with Atlantic City and Sayers. Are there any closer to the north side of SR 520?

I have been trolling near St Edwards park with some success. Tried it again Monday only to discover lots of tribal gillnets north & south of the area. No fish for me this time. At the Juanita boat launch, they are not off-loading any fish, so I assume they are just stripping the eggs from the hens. Their ancestors would be ashamed. I guess this effectively ends the sport coho fishing. Too Bad!

Carl,
You want to use the Sandpoint boat launch. Great facility, paved lanes, piers, parking, $4. Just a quick run across the lake.
Don't bother with the Kirkland ramp. Small, limited parking, $20 non-resident fee. Ouch.
Check the Boat Ramps link off the front page to get exact directions to Sandpoint.
Good luck.
