Was the CIA leak a part of this discussion? Maybe you should start a different thread... How about if a government agency say like the CIA set up a cocaine operation and smuggled tons of cocaine into the US. Should those that authorized this operation be executed?

It has been argued that this is the exact reason gays haven't been allowed to serve.

I getcha, Hank...I agree that if the soldier did indeed illegally transfer the documents to Assange, then he's likely committed a serious crime or three. Fish on... Todd

I have no issue with the sexuality of any person who is in our military. If they decide to volunteer to serve our country, I'll buy that man or woman a beer any time, any where. So many pieces of crap don't serve, yet they object to those who would serve. Talk about ass hattery!
I still say we need to prosecute this Army intelligence puke to the fullest extent of the law. Don't care about his intentions. Nail him. If Wikileaks furthers his cause, accessory.
The Russians do it right. A surprise bullet to the head.

So what some here are saying is leaking sensitive government documents is treasonous, and should warrant the death penalty. What would the appropriate punishment be for blowing the cover of a CIA operative? Excellent question Spool.

So what some here are saying is leaking sensitive government documents is treasonous, and should warrant the death penalty. What would the appropriate punishment be for blowing the cover of a CIA operative? Excellent question Spool. You should ask that of the agents who initially outed Plame in the '90s with documents that were mistakenly allowed to be read by Cuba. After that happened her value as a covert agent was compromised and all of her later work for the CIA was in-house. Look it up...I did.... So then your take on it is that it's all good, what Chaney and Libby did. Sounds like you are saying that Plame deserved it, according to your research. Outing a CIA agent that has gone from covert to in-house still compromises her security and her life. Hank you are not making any sense, with your constant perfuming and lipsticking the pig strategy. You may see it as kissable and palatable, but most wont. That's just my take on it.

Interesting article on Ron Paul's opinion on this matter.

So just who would you folks assign the responsibility to divulge all of this information? A private, captain, colonel, general?

Which has resulted in the greatest number of deaths; lying us into war, or WikiLeaks’ revelations or the release of the Pentagon Papers?
