I can't remember what the cross was but the WDFW toyed with a trout called a tiger trout in some of the lakes in W. WA. in the early 90's. They looked like a tiger ( vertical stripes ) and were very aggresive, easy to catch but didn't fight worth a darn. I think they stocked them cause they were sterile and were fished out quikly so not much damage to the lakes ecosystem,I have not heard anymore about them until now,it would be interesting to find out the WDFW plans to maybe stock them again.

Tiger Trout is a cross between a Brown and a Brookie. They have been planted in some lakes in eastern Wash, and in some lakes in s.w. wash. I too have heard rumers of the aggressive tiger fingerlings being put in Lenice and Nunally ,as the rehab didnt fully take 2 years ago.Have not seen this on any wdfw web page yet though.

Yep, the tiger trout were stocked as fingerlings in the Lenice, Merry, Nunnally chain last fall. They are expected to be around 10 inchers this spring. They are also expected to grow very large as they are supposed to be extremely aggressive, and known to repeatdly hit a fly. Can't wait to catch one!
