Great news about Ray's! I pitched this story to a local newspaper as the more people educated on this the better. The story has several angles from food, to economy and environmental.

How about a more proactive approach on the topic of Wild Steelhead? After all, the tribes have a "canned" PDF that they send out to restaurants and fish markets, shouldn't we collectively do the same and create our own PDF?

I really enjoyed the YouTube video someone posted a few months ago called "Wild Release" of salmon in Colville. We're not going to stop tribal netting so offering solutions that work may be another approach.

I know City Fish is currently selling "Wild Steelhead" that they say came from the Quinaults.

It pretty much ALL comes from the Quins...

If Ray's has a Facebook page then they know exposure is the key to advertising....It seems to me the way to hit these guys is to give them some bad press on Facebook, Twiiter, and even sporting publications, and hope it goes viral...I would let them know you are doing so if their practices do not stop.....Let them know their "Form" letter will be used as their stance on the matter, that way you are using their own words.....

Bad press has to be used judiciously.

It's in everyone's interest if the offending party can come off as a good guy listening to the community and complying with its customers' wishes.

If you create an us v. them dynamic too early, you can torpedo any chance of a win-win resolution.
