It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Term limits would just be an affirmation that our electorate is ignorant and deserves the jackasses that represent us.
We'd still get hosed, but by a fresh set of faces. We'd get hosed because we're idiots, and term limits won't change that.

I think term limits are a great idea within reason.

Had to change the channel 4 times until Obama didn't appear to be a glowing bright yellow & Boehner bright red like he had too much to drink. Way better than having to look at Pelosi though, in any color. What's up with that? Could be my tv...don't think so though everyone looked fine on channel 5. I didn't notice that but I have noticed how gray Obama's hair has gotten! Stressful job running a country I guess.

No one really got to the meat of the deficit problem...
Obiwan: "How do you balance the entire federal budget by tweaking the discretionary funding only? You don't."
I believe this to be true. But clealry there will have to be reductions in discretionary spending. And these reductions will have to come from other places in the budget as well.... defense, health services, the "entitlements" that no politician wants to touch with a 12 foot pole. But no one really said, with specifics, what they or their "colleagues" will reduce, diminish, eliminate, cut-back, etc.

As I detest both parties about the same for different reasons this was just food for the masses but then the show will start in earnest when that bunch has to vote to raise the debt ceiling. Between the blue dog D's ass being on the line and the irrational T baggers it will be interesting. The debt ceiling will be raised as not doing so isn't a option but what spending reductions and how they are extracted from the R & D leadership's to get the votes ....................... it will be show time. The widow & orphan parade will begin in earnest.

If I am not mistaken the Blue Dogs all but disappeared in the last election. By Pelosi being voted in as the minority leader it signaled control of the hard left of the Democratic Party, was there another time in history when a sitting speaker lost control of the house and ended up controlling the minority? The tea party was owned by the Republicans by being locked out of any meaningful posts in congress, Bachman specifically. However the TP is pushing the republicans back to the right. The 2012 election is a very important election for this country. Obama knows it and has signaled he wants to get reelected. As we saw in the last election he like all politicians will say and do anything to get elected and last night was just the same as it ever was.
Calling for term limits are a short cut to thinking. If the public was involved at all levels and knew the people they were voting for it would not be an issue.

TJ the B dogs got hammered but mostly in the House. In 2012 a bunch come up in the Senate and they are backing up like crazy. From what I get of things is we can not tax our way out or just cut spending to get out either. Something has to give on both the left & right as to tax structure and spending priorities.
It looks like a world class game of chicken in the making or as it is said ........... SHOW TIME!

We don't need term limits, we campaign reform. Until we can separate politicians from the influence of special interest money, nothing will change. Special interests are ruining this country, what's good for general motors isn't necessarily good for America.

In your reading of the constitution, you must not have gone all the way down to the 22nd amendment. I see. So with you it's "constitution this and constitution that" until it comes up to something that rubs you the wrong way is it? STFU, hypocrite.
