A bit of a tangent regarding liability over breaking a tooth on an olive pit, but in case you'd like to know what you're talking about:
Federal health care plans cover medical and vision with the gov't. covering most and the employee paying less (say 80%-20%, but I haven't been able to determine the exact split). If a federal employee, including Congressmen, want the dental plan, they pay 100% of the cost themselves. So the taxpayers don't spend a cent on his dental plan, if he has one. I don't buy the dental insurance because I calculated the annual premium as about equal to my annual cash out of pocket dental expenses.
