Yeah, pretty much played out. The truth is prolly somewhere in the middle. I just thought the snow in Houston was crazy.

It is funny that every time it's cold in the summer that the RWWJ's here trot out their Al Gore and global climate change jokes, but are oddly silent when all this crazy $hit is going on...

That's why it's called "Global Climate Change"...unless you are politically motivated, in which case you call it "Global Warming" and joke about it on every cold day...

How would you know if any evidence you saw was credible?

Al Gore has no credentials in the field of Science, then he lectures us about carbon footprints etc... coming from a guy who owns 4 mega mansions and flies around in a private jet. No bigger f'n hypocrite than that POS.

Well guys go to the end of the Roman Empire are take a peek at what historians say the climate was, much warmer by the way. Then the Little Ice Age known also in European history as the Dark Ages. The Little Ice Age came on very fast and if not for developing tubers ( potatoes ect ) the human loss would have been much worse which was a loss of about 1/3 of the population, not counting the disease and everything else.
The climate has been warming again since the end of the Little Ice Age with ups and downs. Tambora & Krakatoa ( volcanoes ) altered the climate for between 5 to 10 years each. ( British Navy Records ) All that said the planets climate changes with the axis tilt that is on a 10000 year flip thing, lunar, and volcanoes ( the one that built Eastern Washington nearly wiped out the planet as did the India one but both were in prehistoric times ) and the atmosphere.
All that said pouring naturally stored carbon into the air and poisoning the oceans and removing vegetation can not help but do something but just what? The same people that started off calling it global warming caused only by human released carbon are the same bunch that in the seventies said another Little Ice Age was close at hand. When that did not pan out they went to climate change and are they right. Yup been going up for the last few centuries but we are not near what it was in the Roman times yet. So if the planets climate has cycles what are our carbon releases doing? Don't know but once before the carbon content built up and the oceans warmed up enough to release the methane trapped on the ocean floor. End result? The global warming ended up freezing the whole planet.
Yup it is snowing in Houston.

Read this just now on a blog I frequent, interesting: Global Warming a Real Threat From The Washington Post via the Washington Times
The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen , Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.
Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.
By the way, I neglected to mention that this report was from a November 2, 1922 Washington Post article as reported by the AP and Washington Times.

Hank, that's like this...
There used to be something like 80 Million salmon going up the Columbia River and its tributaries...several years ago, it was down to like 6 million. Now it's up to about ten or twelve million...
Even with the variable bounces up and down, the overall trend is significantly downward.

Do all you f'n donkeys really believe you know your asses from holes in the ground when it comes to the global climate and how it works?
Then why pretend you do? Are you trying to be just like Al Gore?
Who is going to step up and tell us string theory is bunk because you're a theoretical physicist, and you already wrote the equation that proved the theory false?
Who is going to pretend they know all the economic effects of the stimulus plan.............oh, never mind, Hank already took care of that.
Who is going to give us the yay or nay on the existance of extraterrestrial life..............because they've been all over the universe to look around.
F'n people crack me up with all the pretending to have the answers they do.

That's not an opinion.
That's a fact.
You seem to have some trouble telling the difference sometimes.

My opinion is you don't know sh!t half the time, but you pretend to 100% of the time.

My opinion is you can't put 7 billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere yearly and have no negative effect.
But that's just an opinion.
The part about you talking out your ass half the time was a fact..........I just called it an opinion to make you feel better.

I'm leaning strongly toward Dan's opinion cuz he actually seems to understand science, not just cuz he has a lighter and sets people on fire. Whereas Hank C&Ps "eminent" scientists who counter the conclusions of other eminent scientists. Since none of us are climate scientists, eminent or otherwise, it's like he expects to persuade us with eminence.
I'm a scientist, but I'm not a climate scientist. I've read the [censored] from both sides of the climate street, and I can't decide if anyone is right. The discipline is too specialized for a scientist from another field to critically evaluate it. What a lot of folks don't seem to understand is that science often doesn't yield concrete conclusions. Evidence supports or leans toward one conclusion more than another, or give an answer like it's 95% probable that this conclusion would be correct 87% of the time. Most folks don't find answers like that acceptable, even if they are the best and most accurate answers in existance. So the conclusions often get butchered into something simple enough for the lay media and citizen to understand, even tho it's not accurate.
Meanwhile, the rivers I want to fish this weekend are too high or too low or rising too steeply. Gonna' tie crab patterns for permit I guess.

I don't give my opinion?
Seriously?
Saying sh!t like that is going to get you either drug tested or involuntarily committed at the nearest psych ward.
Why do you even say such preposterous sh!t?

Yet many of those folks believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. Go figure.

Yep. I also fondly remember the automated pushover machine.Forget "her" name.
Damn Hank, I'm liking you more all the time. Too bad yer such a RWWJ. Fact is several of my buddies are as well. Hell I view that as a fault similar to Todd's cheap beer habit, KKs longwinded rants, Addicted's obsessvie compulsive neatness disorder and Parkers pro status bragging.
It's like a person with a migraine headache who goes to the doctor and is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Then seeing 20 more doctors who come to the same diagnoses. But then the patient sees one more doctor who says take two aspirins you'll be fine. Sorry wing nuts majority rules.
The scientific consensus is clear, climate change is happening, and man has a hand in it. Framing this as some left wing sinister plot to get global polluters to stop polluting our planet, falls under f'n donkey ballwashers that like to play the "agenda driven junk science card". But I already knew you don't know sh1t about science, much less what it says or means. But this is what I would expect from a bitter old gas bag.
The reason "why" is NOT clear.....nobody disputes that the climate is changing (previously sworn to as "global warming").....as always. Remember hair spray/R-12/ozone depletion relationship? Science was clear there too. Good thing Ma quick using that stuff, huh? Ever look up what killed George Washington? Science was clear then too. The only thing that IS clear is that people who suck up the "science" without question need to gain a little "open eyes" experience. And your pissy little name-calling bitch session shows that you certainly lack it.

So you missed the part about out migration problem through PS? And did you look at the map showing PS trib habitat conditions? Or do you think healthy robust wild steelhead runs will flourish with poor habitat? You really ought to pay closer attention, or is everything you don't agree with on disregard? How about low crab abundance? If you researched it you'd find over harvest isn't a factor, it's climatic conditions in the spring that determines abundance.

The village idiots keep on poking fun at Al Gore. Al Gore's problem is that he lost an election, that was his to win, to that piece of crap Bush and our economy turned to crap.
