I've been looking everywhere I can think of and have been unable to find a list of the lakes in Western Washington (or the whole state) that do not allow gas motors. I've found references to a few of them on washingtonlakes.com, but even that isn't 100% right.

Does anyone know where I can find such a list? I would rather not drag my boat all the way out there only to find I have to pull the motor and leave it sitting in the back of the truck for a day's fishing.

Specifically, I'm looking at the lakes around Black Diamond and around Monroe.

Thanks,
Todd

I don't know if the info you are looking for is in a single collected form. There are two sets of regulations you will have to look at.

#1 - fishing regulations (see WDFW fishing regs)
#2 - county / city ordinances (check local gov.)

I will let you know right now WDFW regs and local county / city ordinances do not match. It would be nice if they did but they don't. mad confused I am as confused about the whole situation as you are. If you do find a single publication with all the rules please let me know about it.

I have sent email to a number of state and local offices for lakes in King and Snohomish County asking for a list of some kind.

If I get a response, I'll post it here.

I have seen quite a few boats on Lake Wilderness with gas motors hanging off the back. In the fishing regs there is no mention of not being able to use gas motors. On the other hand, at the lake there is a sign stating no gas motors.

When WDFW says no gas motors that means you can not even have one hanging off the back. If there is a county / city ordinance sign at the lake it must be OK to have a gas motor hanging off the back but not use. Who knows confused I just stay away from any lake I am not totally sure about.

There are enough lakes that allow gas motors and have great fishing to keep me happy. smile
