News reports are stating the Saudia population is planning an uprising for March 11. The King is handing out 37 billion to appease them. Oil hit 100.00 a barrel in interday trading. This is not looking too good. eek2

If all the oil countries have revolutions at the same time, the civilized world will soon see how the third world lives.

Too ugly to contemplate. Imagine the effect of $10.00 a gallon gas, or even $20.00 a gallon.

I would be surprised if anything happened in Saudi Arabia. Our country has too much interest in their oil to let an uprising to undermine our oil flow. The fight for democracy, which all Americans support, only goes to a point until it starts messing with our oil -- then people will start complaining.

Obama's vision for electic cars becomes a reality.

I thought the USA was sitting on large oil reserves?

If S.A. falls Anwar and other oil holding areas will have to be drilled. Guess we should have tapped some areas 10 years ago.

Yeah because then we'd be out of it now.

One wonders how much of a part the CIA has played in these over throws.

It's starting: people are afraid of high gas prices because of revolutions. Like I said before, people will condone these revolutions and get a nice, warm, huggy feeling inside UNTIL they start messing with their gas prices.

Don't forget that there isn't actually a shortage of oil in North America yet (and probably won't be)-- OPEC and the oil companies are just ripping people off and will make record profits. I will eat my underwear if oil companies don't see record profits in the next 30 days.

Before you whine that we should have drilled in ANWR, look at how much oil we get from Canada and Mexico, not to mention our very own country. Ignorance cannot fix stupid.

I doubt a war in Israel would do much to help keep gas prices low.

Hamas fired a missile from Lebanon into Israel today too...first time in I think a couple of years. It's going to get pretty heated up over there in the Middle East. Not a destination in my vacation plans.

yeah, probably not a good place to take your sailboat on a pleasure cruise.

1989 all over again. Not an easy road to travel but what an exciting time for the people of these countries. I wish them well.

If this and other revolutions unfold, it could become the greatest story of the last 100 years.

Here's a video worth watching from the Director General of AlJazeera at the TED conference currently taking place in Long Beach.
