Total internet celebrity over the last 24 hrs. Best info I've seen is he was punished/suspended by the school, and the little/bully kid got nothing.

The schools all have the "0 tolerance policy" which means they suspend the kids for protecting themselves. All that policy does is make it so that the good kids are afraid of getting into trouble for self defense. I have always told both of my kids that they have the right to protect themselves and if they decide that it is time to go, go as hard as you can. If you get suspended for protecting yourself, I won't care about the suspension. But, if I find out they started the fight, they will wish that school was open 24 hrs.

Hopefully the little dude learned a lesson, especially since he'll be able to watch his ass get slammed for the rest of his life on the internet.

The major way to deal with a bully is to stand up and verbally, or physically, KTS out of him.
Even if you are physically inferior and get trashed he will know you will not back down. This is often painful once but not indefinitely. Bobbing and weaving helps.

Another option is to train and get better and then KTS out of him. This worked for me. I am a very nice guy but enjoy calling someone's BS personally. Bullys fold because if they don't then they get the KTS out experience.

I would just like to see us all have heated but civil discussions and see if we can bump this big rock along.

That M.O. was de riquer where I grew up. Some guy that was nice as pie to your face during lunch when he was alone suddenly turns into World's Biggest Azzhole during PE when he has four friends behind him egging him on. Same at the logging road keggers. Dr. Jekyll suddenly turns in Mr. Hyde as soon as his truckload of hillbilly friends rolls up. Usually it was the anonymous guy standing there staring at the fire alone, minding his own business drinking a beer would get sucker-punched followed up by "Wutdafukulugginat!?!" and then it was Rodney King-ville. Then Schitkicker McTufskins would be all high-fives the rest of the night with his cronies.
Every so often the target would turn things around and start to dish out an ass whuppin'. Then the guys with names like Zeke* and Jud* and Bubba* would pile in to make sure who won. Lucky for me I always made sure I had just as many or more guys covering my back.

Funny thing though--Senior year someone finally called in a favor (no one ever found out whom) and a bunch of very large guys from UW showed up and crashed one of their little parties. They all showed up the next Monday with concussions and cotton balls stuffed up the nose.

My daughter got suspened one day for smacking some boy up side the head. I had no problem with it, as the boy grabbed her to cut in line for lunch. We had conversations about any boy touching her, I told her to punch him right square in the nose. She said she tryed but he moved his head and got him right in the side of the head. She never had another problem with any guy in school. The boy got one day also, so I guess it all worked out..

As that fat kid who used to get bullied in grade school, I say [censored] YEAH CASEY ! ! ! . . . . . . .. . . . might want to pay better attention to where you drop the little F'er though, break him and his parent will probably sue you. . . . cause that sh!t starts at home. . ..

I put up with enough crud in school that no one and I mean no one, ever better tell my kid he can't protect himself. If a principal ever told me that my kid was in trouble for fighting back I would have a hard time not showing him what the result of being passive could be.

Doctor Rick nailed it. Stand up to punks......even if they beat you, they won't be trying it again if you get in a couple of good ones. Bullies pick on easy targets. As far as kicking 'em when they're down.....totally classless...the stuff of cowards. Let 'em get up and then knock 'em down again....keep doing it until they stay down or walk away.

Here's something I learned in the process of growing up...it doesn't hurt much to get punched. Adrenalin takes care of that part. The hurting comes later.

The problem with today is that you never know when some scumbag is going to pull out a weapon. Might be the turd you're taking on, or one of his scumbag coward friends.
