Trolling small flat fish type lures and needlefish\dicknites work well there. Casting from shore works well early and late, but trolling works best.
There would probably be extra room in some of our boats for bankies who'd like to troll.

Also, I have an extra fly rod that I could lend to a chronic bait chucker if anyone wanted to try feather flinging out (slow trolling flies is pretty darn easy...).

Jim, you forgot about the new watershed education center on the lake, the abundant eagles and ospreys, and I'm pretty sure there are BBQ pits and picinic tables (and public restrooms...).

If you can't handle single barbless hooks - then we better find a different lake... cool

Rattlesnake sounds like a good location, but, since it is a selective gear rules lake, I won't make it. Both my boats have gas engines that are bolted to the transom, and this is an electric motor lake only.

Is a meeting in late July too late in the season? I would really like to meet all of you guys. Is Rattlesnake Lake cool with everyone, it is cool with me. Let me know if late in July works for everyone...perhaps the 20th?

That would work for me. Are we talking an early morning outing with a bbq lunch afterward? Or starting out with a bbq dinner and hitting the late evening bite?

If the day is nice, we'd probaly have better luck fishing in the morning, before the local swimmers and partiers show up...

For those who don't have a boat, or only have a boat with a gas motor, don't worry about it. As mentioned, there is PLENTY of good bank access, and several of us will have room in our boats for a guest or 2.
