I am fairly new to these boards, and was wondering, do you guys ever get together as a group? Perhaps for a picnic or a camping trip? Let me know, I would be interested...

Last time I joined a group was to help clean up Little Cavanaugh, about 16 months ago. What were you thinkin? Always interested in meeting the "posters". Do you have some thoughts on when where?

Ok gang, this is only my second post, as I am new to these boards. I think it would be great to meet some of the people on here. Being somewhat new to WA, I don't have any fishing "buddies", and could sorely use some advice/expertise and such.

I used to fish in So Cal all the time, mostly saltwater for yellowtail, white sea bass, mahi, halibut, etc. Fishing is SO different here. I walk down the aisle of the local sport store and think "What the hell is all this stuff?" That question comes up most prominently in the Steelhead aisle. lol I'm learning.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

I would very much like to attend, but I work 7 day's a week, until the end of October. Hope you all have fun, I know I enjoy the time on the board with all of you. Take Care.

Pelican: 7 days a week doesn't leave much time for R & R! I only hope that you start early and get off early to get a little time to wet a line.
Glad it's you and not me....

That sounds good to me. cool The only problem I can see, is finding a centrally located spot to have it. With so many people scattered all over the state it could be tough.

I think it would be a great idea. The group had a good time at Litlle Cavanaugh last year and we got some good accomplished.
I am going to throw this idea back at you readers. If someone wants to be responsible for getting it organized, then be my guest. A little pot luck or BBQ with some fishing on the side would be fun. Or another lake cleanup.
This site -and I'm not complaining!- has gotten me too busy to set something like this up. So it's up to you guys/gals. Anyone want to step up?

I am from the west side. I'll help organize, but I really don't know where we could/should have it. Let me know what I can do.

Fishin Chick, there is a renton chapter of puget sound anglers that meets the 2nd wed. of every month in kennydale. Might want to stop in and check it out. Great group of people.

Hey there Fishin Chick...
Where in Renton do you live? Kennydale is up near the highlands. I think it's near Edmonds Ave.

If I can help, let me know, I am just below Olympia. The only thought that I have, is that the location should be easy to find and have plenty of parking, that may be a little difficult, but I will put my mind to it as well.

I'm biased of course, but Rattlesnake lake is about as central of a location as you can get (easy I-90 access for east or west of the mountains, and less than 2hrs from Olympia or Everett).

It doesn't have a big trash problem for doing a 'clean-up' (except for the white kind - as in poachers), but it has plenty of parking, nice places for BBQ\lunch, and plenty of bank and boat fishing room.

You like that lake because it's close to your house. I agree that it has lots of parking and bank access and is a pretty place and it has fish in it. And it has trails for walking and a mountain to climb. Did I leave anything out. Jim S.

Rattlesnake would be fine, But what would the bait soakers and chuckers do? Oh i guess they would just blend in with the rest of the poachers.
