Well they had a great run. They had their chances towards the end of the game but just too many bonehead mistakes to overcome when your playing a team like NC. I hope that somehow UW and the west coast in general won some respect in the east.

If someone told me before the game started that we would have a chance to win it down one our ball with 7 seconds left, I would have taken it... Holidays inbounds and Venoys premature heave were two idiot plays that didn't even allow us to have a chance to win..That's what hurts, hey if we get that inbounds play and Isaiah or someone gets off a decent shot at the buzzer to win atleast we had a chance and that I would be happy with...

Romar continues to prove how bad of an X's and O's and late game coach he is.

-He f'ed up on that inbounds play. He gave Holiday ONE read to throw it to, easy play for a defender to read and telegraph the pass. He needs to be aware that with tough defense being played and no timeouts that he has to have more than one option to pass to.
-Why does he have Overton in game with 10 seconds left and let him drive to the hoop so early? Control the damn ball / game and the outcome could have been much different...Driving to the hoop down 1 with 7 seconds left leaves them way too much time even if we make it.
-Why does he take Terrence Ross out, arguably our best player in the game? We needed a 3 point shooter with those 4-5 seconds left and Ross couldn't miss all game...
-How does he not have a half court offense designed to control the ball and not turn it over late in the game? With a few minutes left our offense went stagnant, players had no direction, a few turnovers and thats where we really got behind.
-How does he not go to the refs and ask them to review the time left on the clock? It should have been over a second left not .5 seconds....????

Glad they lost. Can't stand a program that isnt' willing to do boot a F'n criminal off the team. We're paying for his scholarship.

That too. I thought Romar would have made the right decision. Kick his ass off the team, you can tell he doesn't have chemistry with anyone else and he sure as hell hasn't been playing well since the whole drama came up. I thought we played great in the Pac 10 tourney without him, Ross showed that he should have been getting the minutes all year.

I was surprised Romar let Overton play in the tourney. I disagree Romar is a bad x/o's Coach, he's not throwing the ball inbounds,Holiday was.

Who drew up the play? Who told Holiday where to pass it to? Romar. Watch the play unfold, Holiday is telegraphing the damn pass the entire time because Romar drew up a play with one option and that was some ill advised lob over the top. As a defender that's an easy play to make. Whens the last time you have ever seen the Huskies score off an inbounds play on the baseline?

Granted Holiday shouldn't have telegraphed it and made a pump fake to get the defender off him, but Romar's inbounds are garbage....

Tough loss.
They had a great season and almost walked away with a win here.

Romar is not at fault for the loss...his players are. How does Romar have control over poor ball handling? Careless ball handling on two consecutive possessions at the 5 minute mark by Holiday and IT contributed to a 7-0 run by UNC. Ross's careless turnover at the 2 minute mark and Holiday's bad inbounds pass were the nails in the coffin. The players simply did not value the ball at the end of the game.

The coaching staff DID ask for more time on the clock after Venoy's heave.

Criminal is a pretty strong word for someone that furnished alcohol to a minor. Against the law, yes....but criminal?

Who wins the Texas/Arizona game? I have Arizona in my bracket but wish I would have went with the Horns. Texas has 3 guys that can defend Williams...tall, long, and athletic. Watch how that trio finishes in traffic around the rim. Violent and ferocious....

I also think Kansas is going to have it's hands full with Illinois today. Another #1 going down?

Sure wasn't long ago that Texas was thought to be the #1 team in the country. Boy that late season slide hurt em, put them all the way to a #4 team in the tourney. Dangerous team, they have athleticism and were a top team in the country earlier this year, haven't been playing well, but if they play to their potential they can be goooood, if they play the mediocre ball they've been playing AZ might have a decent shot to advance...
