Any one fish Rufus Woods lately? How do you get there from Blue Lake (Grant)? I am going to be in the neighborhood over the holiday weekend and I thought I would give it a shot.

Thanks!

This is NOT the time of year to fish Rufus Carl. The fish scatter and are hard to laocate on the big lake. The best season is Feb. through April when natural food is scarce and the netpens draw in the big triploids.
That said you can get to them by continuing North from Blue through Grand Coulee and Coulee Dam untill you reach the Agency at Nespelem. Big tent structure on the left there. Turn left and continue staying left at one junction till you come down into the river. The Road to the main fishing area is marked by a front end loader sitting next to it.
In a boat most launch at the Elmer City Launch and run upstream 10 miles to the pens.
They still get the occasional big one there this time of year....just not near as good as earlier.

FF is right for trout it is hit and miss this time of year on Rufus for trout but you may want to try for some Walleye up closer to Grand Coulee. If you do go for Walleye try early and late or couldy days.

Its a pretty ride upriver from Cheif Joesph Dam to Grand Coulee Dam if you have a good capaticty fuel tank.

EL,

I'm headed over to Sprague for the weekend to fish for walleye and bass. Water temps are supposed to be 69 degrees over there.

You might try that or Banks.
