i'll tell you this, any principle who told me that fighting back was wrong. then it would make sense to plant a fist it the priciple's face, cause he/she won't punch back. then plant a second! then say "that feeling you have right now", thats what my child's been feeling too.

Good for Casey.My 14 year old daughter beat up a boy this past winter during school as the kid threw his back pack in her face,she punched him in the nose and drop kick'em in the nuts.The dude got busted for hittin a girl and my daughter walked.The bad thing was she got a little cockey after that and had to be put in her place by yes,her Mom & Dad.It took a week or so for her to sky down but she finally did.She know's not to start anything,however she know's I have her back when it comes to finishing it and finishing it good.Good luck,

I never understood the kids that just looked for people to pick on. Those were normally the kids that had the parents that thought they did no wrong as well. It seemed to always starts at home.

Under the Law of the Universe that actions have consequences, and Todd's law that Stupidity Should Hurt, I'd say that Casey is one compassionate kid who handled the situation appropriately. As far as the critics who contend that Casey could have seriously injured the bully with the body slam, I say refer to the above laws. Even if the bully was killed, while unfortunate, it would have been within the bounds of he deserved it and got what he was asking for. Getting off with the apparent slight bruising was the bully's good fortune.

this story was just on Foxx news, they said the video had reached huge amounts of attention. they put the complete blame on the school for allowing casey to be picked on and bullying for years. and that it is sadly wrong for casey to be the suspended in this very sad case of bullying.

I remember the first time I hit back at a bully when I was in the fifth grade...he was a sixth grader who was twice my size...one glancing blow to the temple and he started crying, sat on the ground and blubbered like a baby. Didn't even hurt my hand.

I agree with the comments above, too...I've talked myself out of several "misunderstandings" in bars over the years by agreeing with the antagonist that he could indeed kick my ass...but that he'd have a busted nose, a broken arm, and would look like he got hit by a truck the next day. If wanted to count that as a "win", he was welcome to have at it. Not surprisingly, they haven't "had at it" yet.

I believe I was in 5th grade when I finally stood up to my bully. It was my Babysitter's son. He bullied me for two years until I realized I could kick his ass. Punched him in the guts and the side of the head and made him cry. After that we became friends. sad part was his dad would beat his ass when he got drunk, didn't find that out until high school. Guy still deals with anger issues....

Many friendships have been formed after a good tussle.

The mother of the fat kid should go over and body slam the bully's mom, too.

When I was in junior high there was a family up the street from me...three brothers...two a few years older, one a year younger. The younger one would always pitch me schit at the bus stop every morning, and his older bro's would back him up...I couldn't do anything. One day the older bro's were both sick, and it was just him.

After school he and his mom showed up at my house, complaining about the fact that his glasses, and his nose, were broken. I explained why, and she shook it out of him that it was true, he picked on me all the time and his older brothers took care of him.

Twenty minutes later and she was back, with the older brothers, who both had to apologize to me...and the younger one had to apologize again, with his glasses taped together and a bandage on his face.

You'd think this might be a recipe for me getting my ass kicked by the older ones, but it didn't happen that way...the oldest one just ignored me, and the middle brother and I became friends, played on the same baseball team for a few years even.

Might not have been the best parenting to get to that situation, but their mom sure knew how to handle it once this came up...that's what the bully's mom in this video needs to do.
