Tonight's game caused me to recall the Country Joe chant,

Gant has two fouls in the first two minutes, MBA plays like MIA the first half, Huskies only score 28 points the first half, MBA hands out four fouls faster than a JW handing out brochures, and the Huskies blow a comfortable, if not commanding lead, in the last three minutes, BUT THEY STILL WIN! A fugly win, but a win no less. Good to see the PAC-10 pick up two wins in the first round. Looking for a miracle on Sunday.

Great game! The MVP was Thomas again...always played under control, ran the team effectively, and hit some big shots. Can't wait to see what the O/U is for the UNC/UW game...it should be played in the 90's somewhere. Win or lose it will be a fun one to watch.

Upsets today:

If the Zags can play like they did against St. Johns they should roll one dimensional BYU.
Butler is the new giant killer and I can see them sending Pitt packing.
Not sold on SDSU and would not be surprised to see Temple beat them.

Major props to the NCAA or the networks or whoever thought it might be a good idea to show four games at once on four different networks instead of being stuck on the "regional game" that they think you want to watch like in past years!

Ya, the worse thing I have done to a Husky is wish for em to get anal herpes w a bad bout of the runs...wanting me to burn in my house is crossing the line...and Im afraid of the lil guy w the lighter, GO DAWGS!

Seriously though, ya never know. Always like the 1st weekend the most in the tourney, the pretenders are gone and this is where the first big upsets happen. Im on the Dawg, ZAG, SD St, UoA and even BYU bandwagon. Gotta keep the love out West with all the East Coast BS Bias!

Forgive me, Father, for I have committed blasphemy. Last night I called a Husky win "fugly", which is closely akin to saying Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus, wasn't all that attractive. In the same breath, I asked for a miracle on Sunday. I failed to acknowledge the rock solid play of Isaiah Thomas, improved Husky free throw shooting, and the 28 point contribution of the bench.

Unless you're chatting up Charlie Sheen, winning and fugly don't belong in the same sentence. It won't happen again. Please accept the following video as an act of atonement:

Did anyone see the ending of the Pitt/Butler game? The strangest ending i've ever seen.

I saw the recap after the Zag/BYU game, although I just saw the action and could not hear the commentary. They interviewed the Pitt coach and he looked pretty perturbed.

As good as the Zags looked in their last game and as poor as BYU looked in their last game, I'm really surprised of the outcome. I don't know what the spread was or who was even the underdog, but that was one game where I would have picked the 11 seed over the 3 seed and not have called it an upset.

Like Dan said in WSU loss to Butler earlier in the season... There's no shame in losing to Butler.

Husky's are going to run N.C. all the way to the sweet 16.
