Are Steelhead affected by ocean temps the same way as Salmon are? I heard, but i always hear this excuse, i heard that el nino, el nina, nanu nanu or whatever the hell you call it greatly effects the timing for Salmon to return. Same with the metalheads? Are we to expect a slow winter return? Anyone??? This would truely suck because the summer/fall/winter season is looking to be a dry one..............

FFF, I can tell you the Green is almost dried up. The kings are not moving up river. They are holding in the tidewater by Boeing, NOT GOOD! I have even seen some of the kings try to spawn in the tide water. frown Unless we get some rain all the fish are not going to be running up river. Hopefully, by the time the Steelies are moving through we will have had some rain.

Not this late though. We caught them as early as july 11th and all the way through to december. So yeah in a way the run did stagger a bit, but that made good fishing. I don't know what the hell to call this, mediocre fishing? I think it sucks. I agree with the elnino thing being a lame excuse but who knows, water temp and how it moves north must make some sort of difference.

coudlnt they jus let water from the headworks? to push some salmon upstream if they are worried about the migrating salmon, spawning, ya know..like in idaho they let water out to flush the smolts and it looks like its working itself into some good runs there the past few years..bb
