They tried to rip the motor from the back of the boat with this tow rope. The OUTBOARD MOTOR LOCK held firm . The boat was ripped completely off of my trailer damaging my trailer big time. When I arrived at the street, the boat was sitting next to my truck with the motor end at the front of my truck. There is a large dent on the front of my boat and the winch strap is ripped. This is the scene after the police and I righted my trailer and carried my boat to the back of the trailer so it would be out of the street. This is one of my rear tie downs, ripped completely in half. This is one half Heres the other half. I don't think I will be fishing today.

Easy,
It is a damn shame that stupid crackhead(s) would have to go through this amount of trouble for a fix at the expense of decent people.
Hope all goes fine and your back on the water soon.....
When are you moving? I would have been outta there after the car bomb!

Carl,
Break your lease! Obviously things aren't getting any better since you lost your truck. At the very least, trade in a couple of your fancy fishing poles on a big old shotgun and a case of shells. Hope you get things fixed soon

Lets see,a stolen truck, car bombing, boat damaged and tried to take motor. And still in the same place. I think that you like a lot of punishment before you see the light.

Hey TM, you said you see this stuff all the time. Do you think this was a failed attempt to steal my motor or just a random act of vandalism? I am thinking a failed attempt to steal my motor.

I second Busy's offer Easy. My partner just bagged out one me 1/2 hour ago, so I am flying solo tomorrow. Open on fishing areas, call me @ 425-785-8294 if you want to head out. I know it may drizzle so I am headed out right now to strap the top on.
Hope they find those jacka**es!!!

No offence ment, but WTF will it take to get you out of that place. Maybe a little less fishing, and a little more working would get you a house outside of crack town. I just hate to see good people get forked How about you hook your boat up two a electric fence.

Basser, I know what you mean. Unfortunately, I just signed a new lease for one year. Not real smart on my part. I was thinking of putting the boat/trailer out on the street again, after it is fixed, and waiting for them to take another shot at it. Any one want to come over and join the party??

Thanks WingWang for your offer! I am done fishing for today though.
I have already bought a new trailer and the boat and motor is now down at Auburn Sport & Marine to have the motor inspected. The keel was broken off the bottom of the motor and the prop was mangled. Gotta get that stuff fixed so I can be on the water next weekend.

EL, is there any gear or equipment we can give to you to lessen the financial burden of your tough situation. Give us a list as many of us have extra stuff not being used.

Funny thing, all of my fishing gear was in my boat at the time of the attempted theft of the motor. None of my fishing gear was taken. They just wanted the motor I guess. If you would like to donate a motor or boat that would be cool. Just kidding.

Carl,
Got any material we can use to build a blind by where you store your boat? I could get some decoys and a call of some sort (figure this is like duck hunting) and we could fill them with steal (pun intended) shot.
Don't think there's any limit on these kind. They should be classed as vermin.

Let's see how this all comes together. You guys lay for this clown and Arkanas him as he attempts to heist your boat. You guys get convicted of attempted murder and are sentenced to 15 years. The thief claims he was abused as a child and his mother didn't love him. He gets 18 months in the county jail, with 12 months suspended because of his good behavior while he was in the hospital healing from a load of buckshot in the ass. He is released and returns to the scene of the crime and is successful nextime taking the whole set up. There is an easier way--move.

Sorry to here that easy! Hope the Federal Way cops do better for you than they did for me when my old boat got stripped, and car was broken into. Never heard anything in ether case.Messing with a mans boat is like messing with a mans woman. UNFORGIVABLE!! Sounds like these guys need invited on a "fishing trip". Hey Carl, sorry to hear what happened. Sounds like you need to lock and load that trailer of yours to the truck, keep the motor end against the wall, park next to a motion detector lite, and put your mattress in the boat. Any concilation, if you're going to bank it on the Green, the tides perfect this week though its been slow in the tidal waters. Guess when the nets come up, so will the fish. EL- Don't think that I don't feel for you, I have had the same thing happen to me. I had a new 8hp Merc stolen out of my apartment after I had saved for years to get it. It had 2 hours on it and being a poor student, I had no insurance. Since you are locked into a lease, you might call a couple of the marinas over there and ask if there is some kind of concealed alarm system you could wire up. You can't be the first person this has happened to. It may even help out on your insurance costs. Another thought is with all of the storage facilities popping up all over the place, maybe there is one close to your favorite launch area that you could keep it in a locked garage. I don't know how much they run a month, but it may give you peace of mind and you could sleep at night. It might be well worth the money for awhile til you can get into another, more secure area. That may help on the insurance premiums also. The only way that you can really keep them from stealing it again is for them not to be able to see it.

Yes there are some good people living in apartments. Yes crime does happen everywhere.
When you get that many people living in a small area. The CRACK HEAD per square mile goes up. So a housing development might have 3 CRACK HEADS in it. where as your 300 unit apartment has many more.
Apartments draw CRACK HEADS like, [Bleeeeep!] draws flies.
Only my 2 cents worth

If there were some fishermen standing around, and happen to see someone trying to steal a boat motor. Maybe the fishermen could talk the thief into going fishing. While fishing you could stop by a far off un populated island. Some times people can't find there way back to the boat, and sometimes people get left behind. The right thing to do then would be to contact the police and tell them you lost your fishing partner on the island. I would do this in a promt maner. Two, three days max. I wish, this would never happen in the real world. To many bleeding hearts.

Just goes to show how stupid thieves are. By the time they got the motor off yanking it with a strap, it would be too mangled to be worth a whole lot. My fishin' partner had a a 20hp 'rude taken from his boat, backed in the driveway against the garage. Nobody heard an thing, not even the dog! He has repalced it with a 50'Merc jet. It took two of us to lift it on, if they want that one they will really have to work at it!
People these days have no respect. I have a 12Gage and a box of rock salt I'll loan ya!!
