I am wondering what your "go to" lake lure is. This is the lure you may start out your fishing trip with or use last because you know you will catch fish for sure. This lure can also be the lure you have caught the most fish on. Power Bait does not count.

My "go to" lure is the frog colored Flatfish. fishy

Easy,

I agree with you. frog or perch scale in F4,5,or 6. This summer I had good results with some home made spinners - #6 or 8 red Gamakatsu, a few red or green beads and green blade of one type or another. Tip it with a worm. Produced well locally and east of the mountains as well. Gotta love that flatfish action though... you know that it's workin!

When I was younger it used to be a DareDevil, but I think that was because of a midwest influence (my dad used them and they were popular in the midwest). Now I almost always start with a single 0 or size 1 nickel/silver bladed spinner....rivers or lakes if doesn't matter if I am targeting something other than salmon or steelhead this is where I start.

My daughter and I are big time fly junkies on the lakes... gotta "go to" Peacock Carey Bugger or Red/Black Devil's Advocate.

Watch out fellas... for a 7 year old she can tie a mean bug and cast it too!

Wedding rings. Definitely.

And ANYTHING with a piece of worm attached to it. Unless I'm using my flygear, but any other lures basically.

Fish love them, just gobble them right up <img border="0" alt="[eat]" title="" src="graemlins/eat.gif" />

Mine is either a black and brown wooley bugger or a peacock carey special. I think they work so good because nobody uses em'. I've fished numerous lakes in W. Wa. and couldn't keep the trout off my line. Watching other people troll around and catch nothing they always seem amazed that you can fish a fly without a fly rod. I think the fish key on brown because of the food they're fed at the hatchery .
