Hey all,
I was considering replacing the treble hooks on my rapalas and crankbaits with single Siwash hooks under the theory that one good hookset is better than three lousy ones.
I understand that there might be an issue of balance/performance, so before I start the trial and error process I thought I'd collect a few of your opinions and comments.
Thanks all,
Larry

P.S. Being somewhat of a local history nut, I thought I'd give a little insight to the origin of the word "Siwash".
"Siwash" comes from the Chinook Jargon language, a trade language unique to the coastal Pac. N.W. Indians, and later on, adopted and influenced by European,American, and Canadian traders and settlers. In the Chinook Jargon it simply means "Indian".
However; the word was a contribution to the language made by French explorers and traders. In French, the word means "Savage", a common means of describing North American aboriginal peoples during that period.
Pretty Cool Huh?

I don't think the balance is affected at all. I replace all the trebles,on my trout plugs, with Gami Siwash's. I use little Hot Shots,Flat and Kwikfish, and some of the tiny Rapala's. I troll with these, and they seem to track nice and straight. I don't think the hooking percentage has changed,it's just WAY easier to remove a single vs.treble,on fish you're gonna release.
