does anyone know much about duro-boats? what about their hull seam design? anybody ever heard of problems with them?

i'm in the market for an aluminum boat at the moment, 13' - 14' split bench. any recommendations? which manufacturer would you choose?

Duroboat15 would be the guy to ask about Duroboats. I am sure there are other Duroboat owners out there too.

Lots of boats to choose from. The walk through config seems to becoming very popular.

You may also want to check out Crestliners new 14' aluminum. It has an 80" beam with a walk through config.

I have a 14' Northwood with a walk through config and I love it.

an 80" beam on a 14' aluminum? that's pretty good.

Look at Smokercraft aswell.

My dad has a 16ft Smokercraft designed with the spilt bench. It is huge. Not sure how wide. But lots of room compared to others. Plus it rides very well.

Lots of boats to choose from. I have friends with Duraboats and they love the. I've not fished from one.

Happy hunting for your new seat on the water.

Bad-Daddio,
I have had my 15' Duroboat sence 1997 its a 1996 model. I have had no problems with it at all its a GREAT boat. No leaks whatsoever the joints seem to be really strong. If you havent yet check out there web site www.duroboat.com
I have a 25hp merc on mine and it go's plenty fast enough for me. The boat handle rough water real well also.
If your going to fish puget sound alot you might want to think about looking at the 15'er.
The 14' boat has a 65" beam and is 29" deep. The 15' boat has a 72" beam and is 35" deep that makes for a more stable and dryer riding boat. The 14' is basicly a streched 12'er.
I have owned boats from 8' to 24' and the Duroboat is the highest quality boat I have owned.

thanks, DB. i really appreciate the info. i hadn't noticed them much before but now that i've started looking at them, i'm seeing them all over the place. people must be pretty happy with them. i liked the dimensions of their boats - particularly since rough water seems to happen more often than not here in the great pac-nw. but i wasn't sure about the joint design. as someone who does that sort of thing for a living, i tend to over-analyze these things. thanks again....
