I go fishing often, but mostly Central to east WA.
I live in the Mill Creek area. South of Everett. And would like to hit a few lakes over here with my 3 yr old son.
Just a quick day trip or afternoon. We have done Lake WA. and had a good time. And other lakes I should consider checking out with the boy?

So many of the lakes around me have crappy little launches. Or are no gas motor lakes.

I don't mind driving awhile.

Any sugestions?

One of my favorite lakes in your area is Deer Lake on Whidbey Is.

The lake is located just up the hill after you get off the ferry on the Clinton side. It is a small lake that allows gas motors, has excellent trout fishing, and gets zero fishing pressure.

For trout you might try Goodwin (usually good May through June and in the fall), McMurray (May) or Flowing.

For Kokanee (mid May on) you could try Stevens, Roesiger's north lake, or Baker.

For panfish good bets would be Goodwin, Stevens, Roesiger, Big (Skagit County), Samamish, Washington and any number of smaller waters.

Good fishing to you and your little one.

Hunter, Lake Sammamish has been real good to me for the past couple of weeks.
I've been trolling pop gear (man I hate that stuff) and wedding band. The red Uncle Wes' worm troll works excellent. I troll 8' deep on the down riggers and place my gear at least 100' behind the boat. The Cutts we've been catching are between 10"-20". The majority of the fish are of the larger size.
They have an excellent launch too.
I'm going to be out there tomorrow morning.
If you come out, look for me in a white and blue Crestliner and say hi.

Ever fish Martha lake? It is real close and has a decent amount of fish. I know you cant use a gas engine there but it's worth a try from the dock with your son. Or find a canoe or small dinghy to row out in.
