Go ahead and keep thinking its free, I am sure the WDFW could use your 66.00 donation/fine.

Here is a very recent picture of the "free" area

I have heard this "free" area is going to even get a new dock.

It is free. When you get your license you get one of those tags. It's not my fault you left yours in you other car and got a ticket. If you figure you have to pay and how many times durning the year do you use these boat launches with that sticker. By a years time you should be parking free.

Besides this is a good launch. Many lakes have just dirt launches and no docks. You can thank the state for that dock because a few years ago that dock wasn't even there.

I would assume if you are using this "free" launch you are fishing and have the sense to put your sticker on your vehicle. If not then you suffer the consquences. This area is no different than the county park area and hasn't changed one bit. I don't have a problem paying for improvments, but when they use it for a money generator then it rubs me the wrong way. I can give you many examples of how our WDFW spends our money on worthless endevors. Jameson Lk and the Potholes area are prime examples. Let's hope the new dock is going to be funded by private donations or it will cost us thousands of $'s How long do you figure it will be free?.......

I fished flowing today from about 1 pm till 4.It was slow. i managed 4 to the hand and long line release a couple with nothing over 11 inches. I was dragin' streamers behind my pontoon for the most part. I did anchor for a bit and cast some soft hackles to the risers , got a few hits, and they were slurping flies all over the place, but I did better trollin' and twichin'.
One guy in an ODC 10 footer was just coonin' 'em all day long. He musta had 50 that I saw. None of any size, that I saw, but he had 'em keyed in.
It was a beautiful day, the water just needs to warm a few degrees and this lake should be hoppin' for awhile.

beathead
Wish everyone would catch and release.........I mean really, what are ya gonna do with 'em? Eat'em?........ Give 'em to somebody?.... I believe most people take 'em home, freezer burn 'em and then throw 'em out beer

Leaky, I agree 100% with you on catch and release. The only problem is that when I use powerbait and float it off the bottom, often they take the hook deep and would not be able to swim off. But the fish do not get wasted! Other wise C&R

Do you know what the guy who caught 50 or so in the pontoon boat was using?

I hope all of you that use bait that you are not supposed to catch and release those fish. If you use any kind of bait the fish all count toward your limit. And you will find this in the Regs. If caught will result in a ticket.

Just a little word of advice.

Just checked the regs, and from what i got out of it on page 21 it says "In lakes, ponds, and resivours: No Min size. Daily limit 5. When fishing bait all TROUT (except Steelhead) equal to or greater to the minimum size are counted as part of the daily limit whether kept or released"

So does it mean that i could release 5 trout and then stop fishing?

Old Man: Thanks for the heads up as i was unaware of the rule (bad me, bad me)
