I see that someone recently fished at Spanaway Lake...is the lake free of the recent contamination that it had last Fall? I know there were 2 lakes - Wapato and Spanaway.

I don't know about the nastiness of it right now. I'll try to go over to my friends house this week and take a look then report back. You could also give Bud a call at the boathouse.

I haven't taken my dogs swimming there since last spring because of the crap that was in the water. I guess it isn't canine friendly.

Yup. That green slime stuff is still there. At least at my buddy's house anyways.

Trolling the edges is a good idea for trout. From the boat launch head south. The south end of the lake is shallow and trout like to hold up there. Troll small plugs or drag a large fly right on the surface.

If you troll a fly make sure you hold on to the rod. Don't put the rod in the rod holder. If you do you will miss the bite.

Spanaway is probably not more contaminated than any other lake in western Washington.
