I'm wondering if any of you are having problems with the new report form. I noticed the last few days reports have slowed down, wjhich was not what I would expect. I just want to be on top of any issues with the new site. I did notice on my computer the text box looks small. I have asked Aaron to enlarge it.

Also, Firefox is giving us some problems so if you can use IE you'll have a better experience on the site.

Thanks!

Mike, why aren't the reports shown in chronological order. When I look at them they are all over the place. I have a hard time figuring out which ones I've read and which are the new posts.

Hi Zen,

This falls under the catagory of "can't please everyone". We had it set to chronological order, but then the problem is the opposite. If you post a report and date it a few days back, you won't see it at all. That's because when it is in chronological order it will get buried behind more recent ones. This way the new reports will always show up on the front page, if only for a day or two before moving down and off the list. So the way we have it now at least you get to see the report show up on the front page.

I know it looks strange with the dates scattered back and forth. I may need to add a note indicating how the reports are posted I guess.

Wish I could come up with a better solution...

Mike, thanks for the explanation. I figure I can live with things.

I like that you have it back to the order they were placed. I don't normally log a report for days if I go for a week or so. I placed a Fish Lake report and it landed way off the first page.
Mike is it possible to have multiple dates listed on a report? I don't see anyway to pick more than one date. I'd rather not make a seperate report for each day I fish if I stay at the same lake, but then I see I'd up my chances if I send in multiple reports on the contest....... smile

It's true, your chances will go up with more reports submited. That was my intention - to encourage guys to send in more reports.

As far as fishing one spot for several days, you can only put in one date for the period. That's because of the way the data base is set up. It's not something we can change. It would require overhauling the report form, adding multiple fields and you'd still have to type in a seperate report for each day in order for the database to see it as a seperate report.

Glad you like the reports appearing as they are posted. I admit it looks kinda wierd seeing the dates scrampled but as you noticed I'd hate for someone to submit a report and then wonder why it never showed up. As it is you better look fast because the reports really move down that list fast!

Aaron fixed the posting date/report date issue. You now have the option to view either way. Cool. smile
