All of a sudden he decides extending it for two months is not as great as a year. WTF is he thinking, I am surprised he wants it extended for a year let alone at all, two months should be a good compromise given his background.

The President was correct when he said it needed to be for a year then politics took over D's reversed and R's took the leap. This is about the House vs the Senate as much as R vs D, add election year and we have the toxic brew. Reverse the positions and this would still happen as the Senate and House relations have continued to deteriorate even when the D's controlled both.
