So after catching my first bass in Beaver Lake after fishing it all winter and spring this year for trout, I am beginning to start to target bass...I do love trout fishing, but I want to try bass fishing as it poses a challenge and a new species I would love to be able to fish for. I know that there are two small (actually one is about 12 acres) lakes connected to the the main lake and are accessed through narrow and shallow channels about 200 feet long and they open up to these other two lakes. I was wondering, would these lakes have any fish in them? I would guess either that there are no fish or there is an abundance of fish. I know the bigger lake of the smaller 2 lakes has trout in it, i motored my boat around in it and saw them slurping on bugs all when I was there. But does anybody know of any bass being in the two small lakes connected to Beaver Lake? Also what is the best tactic and lures/gear and where to fish for bass at Beaver? I caught a nice little 10 incher LMB at the huge clump of trees about 200 yards up the shore from the park where the big trees break up the houses and make a gap...

You will catch more bass in the main lake. The small lake across from the boat launch has few fish in it. The other channel at the opposite end of the lake has some in it but stick with the main lake to start.

Best lure for that lake is Gary Yammamoto Grubs in Red. I have caught hundreds of bass on this lake back in the day.

The big rock at the end on a hot day in early spring warms from the sun. It is possible to have good success around this rock under the right conditions.

Dave D,
Thanks I have been looking around that lake for some good spots, I have only caught one bass there so far this year, and it was a 11 incher on a brownish worm...How do you fish the big rock? I have heard that it is a fish magnet in the summer from some friends who fish it, but do you just throw a grub around the rock and work it like all other plastics? And do you just normally fish the docks and pads and what not in the main lake?

Most of the bass we caught in that lake are only 11 inchers. Cas around the rock area with small crank baits. I personally never had great success doing this but my buddies did. I always did better wit grubs around the shore edge.

Don't know why but grubs will get you 4 times more fish then worms in that lake.

You just work the docks and the shores with grubs then?

Docks, sticks, banks, whatever...

If it is sunny, and it usually was...I would just cast to the shaddy side of anything in the water.

We used to go after work, two guys in a small row boat. We would usually get 8-16 fish to the boat in about 4 hours.

Nothing over 12-16 inches, 16 being a whopper smile

It was on my way home, then I discovered the Snoqaulmie river. Caught my first Steelhead and never looked back at Bass again.

Have fun
