Should the U.S. do anything to resolve the mess in Syria? Troops, drones, arms, diplomatic actions, nothing? Current reports are about 100 civilian women and children are killed daily. Is that enough for us to do anything? if not what if 10,000 were killed daily? Not enough - what about 100,000 a day? Should the US have acted sooner to stop Hitlers extermination of Jews? I honestly am not certain what, if anything, we should do. Are you? http://news.yahoo.com/syrias-homs-bombarded-again-turks-push-solution-014614676.html

Syria's neighbors need to step up. They've tried. They need to try harder and maybe they are.
Peacekeeping is serious business. I don't know if there are any Arab nations over there with the will and/or resources to make a difference.

This situation reminds me of seeing some POS beating the crap out of his GF on the street. You walk over to help and the get the girl out of there. The guy gets tough as they always do.....I mean they showed their old lady who is boss so why not you too.
About that time you knock the tough guy on his butt what happens.....the crazy B still bleeding from her nose, jumps on your back, pulling your hair and clawing the crap out of your face all the while screaming what a POS you are and to leave him alone.
Moral of the story......mind your own f-ing business. Nothing good comes from getting into other peoples crap as you will be the bad guy in the end no matter how good your intentions are.

We're too busy getting ready to assist Israel with the Iranians to give a chit about Syria.

Sounds like a job for teh Arab League or UN peace keeping troops, not the US. They haven't invaded anyone, nor are they a direct threat to their neighbors. This struggle is internal, and we have no allies to support.
I can't imagine being shelled by my own government to the point where if I ran, I risked being shot by snipers. Horrible is an understatement.

I'm hoping Assad will go down by the hands of his own people.

Why are we interested? The same reason Russia and China are.
Then 2010:
Iraq and Syria have completed technical talks about a planned pipeline for transporting Iraqi oil to Mediterranean ports, AlWatan daily reported, citing an official speaking with the Kurdistan Independent News Agency. The results of the talks were positive, and Iraqi officials will report on the discussions within three days, the Damascus-based newspaper reported, citing comments by an adviser to the Iraqi government, Salam Al-Quraishi, talking to AKNEWS, the Kurdish news agency.
The 225-kilometer (140-mile) pipeline would transport Iraqi crude across Syria to the Mediterranean Sea and have an export capacity of about 1.7 million barrels of oil a day, he said.
A pipeline with a capacity of 600,000 barrels a day already links Iraq’s northern oil fields in Kirkuk to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, Turkey.
Now Today:
Iraq will lose the capacity to export 1.7 million barrels of crude a day if Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz, the transit point for about two thirds of its production, an Oil Ministry spokesman said.
The Gulf state is pursuing plans to open new crude export routes via neighboring Syria, following threats by Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz in response to international sanctions on its energy industry, Thamir Ghadhban, the Iraqi prime minister’s top adviser, said Feb. 2.

Sen. John McCain...called for greater international efforts to aid opposition forces, but “without boots on the ground.” Sure, until the President suggests we should have unilateral support and not commit troops. Then gramps will go off on a tirade about the President being weak on foreign policy.
